Story »

The Foo City Police Department recently aquired a Shinohara Industries Patrol Labor equipped for SWAT use.

About the Kits »

These three kits were purchased in June using the winnings from my 2nd place S-Gundam at Best1Hobby. Eventually they’ll be part of a large diorama. Eventually.

AV-98 Ingram 2 » A master grade kit from Bandai. This was built basically out of the box with no modifications. I gave it a custom color scheme and custom decals which I had designed to create the SWAT variant.

Likes » Tons of detail. Large kit when finished. 1/35 scale so I was able to use military kits with it. Minimal seams needing fixed, just guns and shoulders

Dislikes » Vinyl joint covers had much flash and paint doesn’t stick to them very well. Joint covers make for minimal posability. Gun hatch on leg has big gap when closed.

U.S. Navy Seal Team » This was produced by Dragon. They’re 1/35 scale so they’re in the same scale as the MG Ingram. I wanted to find a set of the Dragon SWAT team figures, but they were nowhere to be found so this was the next best thing. I think they turned out good for a futuristic SWAT team.

Quad Tractor » Made by Tamiya. I needed a “support” car for the Ingram. I didn’t want to do the typical support car from the Patlabor series and the 1/35 EX kit is hard to find. I was debating between this and an armored car and this eventually won out. It’s a nice little kit, but has a TON of flash that nees sanded off. Great detail and as a bonus, it came with English instructions. I’m not used to that.

Base »

The base was made using a finished wooden plaque, baking soda and paint. The instructions are on Testors website.
