Model Gallery / Bandai 1/72 T-65E-3 X-wing
« on: July 27, 2016, 08:36:56 AM »
I haven't been here for a while, and judging from what I see, facebook groups have stolen a lot of interest from traditional forums.
So to make a little more traffic here, I thought I could share my build, completed in march this year.
My second (and first SF) model kit finished after about 16 years.

Why T-65E-3? ;) Well, I think that sharp eyes will see some differences between this one, and movie appearance of the ship ;).

Model In-Progress / Return of the... slowest WIP on this board

Helloooo Foo and Others :).

Odd thing to see that my last post related to Cobra scratch is dated february... 2010. Nice ;).
Anyway, I guess in case of any normal and regular modeler (which I'm not) it wouldn't be much of the progress, but in my case - it is :P.

Last time it was just a hull. So... ;)

Kit Specifics / Zeta Plus question
« on: April 09, 2009, 12:39:59 PM »
I've seen a few custom builds of this mecha, and spoted some difference comparing to OOB version.
Let's use it as an example:

Heels are placed deeper inside of calf/shin/whatever ;) - does model remain transformable after this modification ? If it does, is it a custom mod, or some kind of conversion parts has been used... ?
In fact it looks much better, and correct me if I'm wrong, but it matches original concept drawings.
I have one of those on shelf, waiting for my mercy ;), but I would like to change some minor details.

Model In-Progress / Next scratchbuild project - Cobra fighter
« on: March 28, 2009, 06:15:40 AM »

That's my current build, basing strictly on this simple 2D sketch:

CAD template nr 1 (second one contains parts for engines and pods under hull)

Skeleton pix:

Structure is made out of 0.5mm (mostly), 0.25mm and 0.75 styrene.
My goals are retractable landing gears, openable cockpit in two variants - with classic, transparent canopy and "blind", fully armored one. This time I gave up an idea of making it lit - after my previous attempt I think although cool, it's not THAT worth of an effort.
Whole ship is 24cm long.

Enjoy (or don't ;))

Hello everyone :-)

After a few years of being member on SSM forum, I decided to stick my nose somewhere else too :-).

Set contains about 30 pix of finished model and some showing work stages. I hope You all will forgive me but I am rather bad model photographer (lack of descent hardware and appropriate knowledge) but I'm working on it  ;).
Also, You will find pis of previous builds, some starfighter drawings and sketches. I would say that starfighters are my speciality. Unfortunately I have not enough time in my disposal to be more frequent about modeling my concepts.

So, here is my last build:

I hope You like it :).

P.S. Edit:
Well I think it would be nice to give You some basic information about this build-up.

-scale 1:72 (total length 29cm)
-used materials: styrene, foamed PVC, VIVAK, automotive and Humbrol putty
-painted using Mr.Hobby aqueous paints with small addition of Humbrol and Testors.
-landing gears are retractable and weapons can be removed.
-"secondary hull" is integral part of the ship - it's not kind of a pod.
-it's lit - there's a pix with lights on at the end of set
