Model Gallery / Hoihoi San : Leticia
« on: November 25, 2010, 07:42:18 AM »
Leticia is my daughter's name, she's 9 months old now. I decided to paint this pink and apply my very first custom decal and slap a simple diorama with it. I did quite subtle shading and a bit "blush on" on the cheek to cuten things up  I used Gundam unicorn's gatling gun which surprisingly fit very well with this kit. I changed the number to ID 2502 on the decal which stands for my daughter's birthday which is 25 Feb. "I Love Dad" decal on the back skirt was used to tease my wife, ended up she nagging me to add "& Mom".... which was something I forgot to do on purpose :P

This is the WIP picture :

And after....

I'm quite satisfied with the decal, printed with my "crappy-cheap-ink-injected" Inkjet printer. Got small issue handling the decal itself, may have sprayed too thick of gloss coat on it.

The small diorama I made, have been abit overdone as I was excited over my new first set of pastel colours :P
Comments are welcome, Thanks for viewing  :D :D

The MG Impulse alone...

The IWSP pack combined with the plane from Force Impulse and IWSP shield  ( Flight mode )

The shield was attached to IWSP using strong magnet which emmbeded on both the shield and the IWSP itself..

Pardon me for the heavy pictures.. Any comments are welcome and thanks for viewing  :D

This kit was done for quite some time, only got time to take photo today. The MG impulse was given by my best friend, the IWSP pack was from my Strike IWSP ( got abandoned long time ago   ). The colour was inspired from Destiny Impulse, I used self mixed purple which I think turn out great with the dark gray. First time using this shade of gray ( also self mixed one ), which I really love since it goes very well with white decals as well with red ones.
I lost the clear red part of the sword.. already search everywhere but could not find it. I bet when least expected it will turn out somewhere, it always does....

This was a birthday present from my best friends. Been building this from last year, only to finish all the decals last night and followed by flat coat this morning.
This is one hell of building, the number of parts is just
I certainly love the bulky arms and legs  8) 8) I use my version of colour, avoid pure white since it will be difficult to get white even on all parts. Used self mixed clear green for the transparent parts. Decals were from samuel's, but the astray logo from bandai's. Since samuel's colour is pale yellow which very different from the original logo.
The LED inside the head is very weak, not sure why since its my first time handling LED.

Some of the details..

Posing with the shield and gerbera straight, I didn't build the riffle... its hands already full as it is

Any comments are welcome, thanks for viewing  :-) :-)

This is my entry for zoidsposion custom contest. Pretty much OOB since kotobukiya has awesome detail. This kit is more difficult than I expected, It has ridiculously high number of parts, but still leaves some obvious seams on some of the parts. I made the dio to make dynamic pose adn optimize the flexibility of this kit. Comments are welcome, thanks for viewing  :-)

Some of the details..

Comparison with the original colour.

@DrDazzle, Zircor
Thanks for the kind comment guys  :-) :-)
Yeah some of the ideas were taken from the strike evolve, such as the long tip shoes which IMO suits strike very well  :-) I don't think there is anything on the right arm.. I just moved the original grapler position from the back of the elbow to the side of the arm. I use the shield manipulator for this.
This is the picture with the frame made by my friend for this GB.

Thanks for the compliment  :-)

I used top coat for all the parts. Gloss coat for the yellow armour and flat coat for the frame and other parts. I got this kit in a hobby shop during my trip to singapore.

This was originally a groupbuild with friends in other forum. Ver. idsi consists 3 names ( Id-noorist, Deeaz, STR1KU ), we are building mg strike with the 3 weapon system, I chose the sword strike. I just submitted this kit in online competition at Netmorks forum.
I have done alot of modification on this kit, and I spent so much time doing this kit... Original color was agreed with other groupbuild members, I mixed the light blue sword to more of a purple shade colour....  Just glad it's done...  :-) :-)

Thank you guys for the kind comments  :D I noticed that the base may bit out of place mainly because of the ZEON letter. But still it's already done and sent for a competition, I didn't bother to redo it. Definitely will improve and do better base in future build  :D

This is the base I made for these guys. Using a thick acrylic for the base, the rest using pla plate and some bolts. The zeon logos were cut from 1mm pla-plate.

Hi guys, wanna share my latest build. I build this kit OOB with minor modifications such as drilling in many places, replace the coil with metal, make the mono eye move able. This kit going to pair up with my brother's sazabi ( crushblind ) in a local competition. I mixed quite dark red to be used on this kit as well as on the sazabi, other colours such as the gun metal and yellow are the same also. Many flaws and mistakes hard way learnt from building this kit. Just hope to do better on my next kit
Any comment are welcome, thanks for viewing

@Sticky Fingers
Thanks man  ^_^ I hope the weathering is not too overdone  :P
Omg.. I didn't know that it was rifle holder!! I'm so ashamed, I even show it in closeup pictures.. feel so stupid alrite.. I really had no idea what it was  :P Thanks for the pointer man  ^_^

Some of the close up pictures..

Here are some of the pictures on the molga.
Actually this kit is rather detailed, only some seam lines. Some seams on the cannon are cleverly diguised. Actually the wheels can shift and burrow its claws on the ground for supporting its place when firing the cannon, however I don't dare to change it as it will wipe out the mud on the wheels  :P

Here I try to make iron cast on its upper armour. I drybrushed this part with light green to bring out the details... I'm not even sure what I was doing

Comments and critics are welcome  ;) Tips on the weathering and diorama greatly appreciated  :D

This zoid is HMM Molga with canory unit. My very first time doing weathering and making a diorama. Since it's my first time, I'm not sure whether I got it right or not.... pardon me if it's poorly done  :P
Lucky me I got the WWII vehicles and those drums, the size also match the zoid scale ie. 1/72.

[Note : Those pics are done using red filter on the light source during photo shoot ]

More pictures..

The "core" of the zoid taken out from the body...
