Huh, weirdly enough, my GF has one of those Alucard kits.  First resin model I saw IRL that wasn't made by an Asian person, at the time.   I really like the look of Deunan, she's pretty tempting to get hold of...

I like the mods to the Hi-Nu!  Though it's not really a fair fight...  the Rick-Dom is 14 years old by the time Hi-Nu is built in the Gundam timeline.

31 Days / 1/100 Mortar Head Junchoon

Unfortunately, I sold all of my anime girly resin figure kits to fund my move to Japan, so aside from some tiny DBZ figures I can't find, I only have my Junchoon and Aaliyah handy as non-Gundam kits for this group build.

The only thing about this kit is that as I got it secondhand, the vinyl parts were pre-cut and some of the plastic and polycap parts came off the tree/were clipped by the previous owner.  If it's still alright for the group build, then this is my entry.  I have a few ideas for the base in mind, but nothing concrete yet.  I have a small pile of wooden plinths sitting around though.

Thanks for the link, Sticky Fingers. :)  I might try and get some of the powder... 
I was going to say, one of the types of glowing paint I have is a lacquer based one meant for painting fishing lures, it adheres pretty well.

I've used UV and glow-in-the-dark paint on models with mixed success.  The main thing is that glow-in-the-dark paint is almost always a kind of green glow.

This sounds like the excuse I need for making my Junchoon or Aaliyah. >_>;  I feel kind of bad for not touching either, but there's always a Gundam I've been wanting to finish first.

So, got a little time to work on the Throne.   I made the mistake of buying Rock Band II on Thursday, so my productivity is kind of shot. 



Added some kind of joint to the leg.  Not entirely happy with it, it must be said.  It's made of Kotobukiya option parts and some Volks ABS bits, as well as plasticard and epoxy putty.  The problem is that the only ABS joint that fits feels kind of flimsy.  It'll be better glued, when the final cast assembled version is done, but it kind of bothers me for now. 



You can also see how weirdly long those spikey bits on the throne's ankle are.  Believe it or not, they're to scale, size-wise.  The Thrones' legs are always bend forwards in an odd way, so they don't touch the ground or anything. 



Internals on the leg.  That skinny ABS joint is part of what bugs me atm. 



And those of you with eagle eyes and a good memory will recognise the back of the leg as part of the knee from the 1/100 Aegis Gundam with Kotobukiya option parts added.  I'd feel bad, but it's the right size and shape, and it saved me a few hours...

Next up I'm working on the torso and the ankle/foot.  The pink parts are recast and modified from Exia's GN Drive pieces, and the torso will be built around them.  If anyone has any good ideas for a hip joint that's reasonably poseable but easy to reproduce in resin, I'm all ears, btw.

Assemble the two parts together, and drill from the outside, through one part and into the other part.  As long as the parts haven't moved during drilling, they should line up perfectly when you pin them together.  Obviously, this method only work on pins near the edge of parts, and in areas where it's easy to clean up the external surface of the part...

With mecha figures you can be lazy, use pins with small heads, and call them rivets if you leave them exposed. >_>;  I'm doing this on one of my Core-Works conversions.
