Mostly done with the launcher, but now I feel it doesn't fit with the rest of the design (too blocky). I may change the sights to something rounder, or make a new gun altogether : /

I know you can buy some special paper to do it yourself on a regular printer. I still have a sheet of AoZ decals I bought from someone here (Bawoo?).
Bandai makes AoZ decals though, that may be your safest bet.

I'm wondering how the decals will react with the brush strokes? Some softener may help if you have trouble there.

I worked a bit on the main weapon, a Stinger-like missile launcher (I'll add a missile on the front like on a RPG-7). I'm still fiddling with the proportions but the back portion of the tube will be somehow covered.

Hand painting a MG, that's a project! I'm also planning on hand painting my current project, partly due to my compressor dying, and mostly because I crave the Kobayashi/Mak dirty laquer look (for which I think Mr Hobby paints are recommended), so I'll be following your progress!

Are you going for a clean finish or something weathered?

I'll be honest, I'm a bit creeped out by dolls or doll-like model, but the sculpting here is just top notch. I totally get the Shirow/Gunnm vibe, which I love.

That's quite the project! Love the super clean finish (and that red wire, great detail!).
Are those kits rare? I think I've seen images of them (or of recasts') but I'm not familiar with the brand.

Ok, digging up this thread after 11 years feels like borderline necromancy, but I'm actually working on it, so it seems fair!

I started working back on this thing earlier this year and made good progress.
I'll let you check the first message for context, but here's pretty much where I left things off (just the torso and shoulders):


And here's where I'm now:

I've managed so far to only use plastic card and epoxy, and I'd like to keep it that way. I may end up using option parts but for sure I won't kitbash.

Next steps are:
  • Legs/boosters (conceptually similar to the Neo Zeong)
  • Weapon (RPG/Stinger-like)
  • Secondary arms on the sides of the shoulders
  • Rear skirt boosters

This is a lovely piece, I like how lived in it looks with all the characters doing their things.
I'd second Michael's remark about some minor discrepancies in the overall weathering, but it's also because the dirt and rust you added look fantastic, so maybe I want to see more :lol:

It's looking awesome, very gritty. I like that the proportions are somewhat realistic and not too cartoonish, it's makes him more menacing.
