Model Gallery / 1/35 Raiden Armor
« on: March 20, 2011, 10:11:09 AM »

Something for the group build of Zero G. It’s a 1/35th scale Raiden Armor from Bandai. Pretty much an old school kit, lots of seam lines but the details were quite good. I chose this kit mainly because of its scale; I really want and need to practice my weathering since I’m becoming an avid fan or armor kits. About the build, it was purely OOTB except for the additional rifle/weapon. Painted with a mixture of dark yellow and tan (Gunze Lacquer Paints). Same mix with my previous Panzerspahwagen build. For the highlights I just added white to the base color. For the weathering; at first I plan to do it simple and conservative, but I went overboard and decided to make it heavy for a change (not sure if I overdo it). Pin wash, Filter, rust were achieved using oil paints (burnt umber, burnt sienna, black, white and yellow ochre). I also used a Balkenkreuz emblem and some German decals since I’m going with the Afrika Korps scheme.

Thanks!  :-)

Finished this kit about a month ago for the IPMS Philippines Nationals. Its a purely OOTB build with a slightly weathered scheme. I kindda miss pre-shading mecha kits, and its perfect opportunity to practice weathering I've learned from armor building. Chippings and filter were achieved using oil paints, then I used acrylics and powders for the dusting on the feet and legs. I was also amazed on the tooling of this kit, very few seam lines to tackle and excellent fitting.:D

Been a while, been busy with the local modeling events here lately. Here's my 3rd attempt on armor modeling. Its a 1/35th scale Russian KV-1 "Ehkranami". Its a pretty straight forward OOTB build. I use Russian Green as my base paint, then toning it a bit with black and white/yellow for the post shade and highlights. Dry-brushed the kit with dark brown and dark gray to simulate scratches, sponge technique was used for the chippings. I also applied a dark brown pinwash and filter. For the mud effect I used Tamiya acrylics mixed with talc and fine sand (many thanks to NorrisPackard for this recipe). Dust and Rust was achieved by using Tamiya weathering sets and oil paints.

Model Gallery / Tamiya 1/35 Russian T62-A

Finished my first armor kit! It's a Tamiya 1/35 Russian T62-A Tank. The build was purely for an informal group build at Mechapinoy, but its also a good break or mental build away from Gundams. I really enjoy this build because its different from what I usually do... from the assembly to painting. I've learned a lot of new techniques, used some new tools which is pretty exciting for me. Im also not sure if I did an accurate or historically correct build for the kit. Comments and suggestions will be very helpful. Thanks and hope you guys like it!

Just wanna share my latest project. Ive been a fan of the Korean modeling scene lately, I fell in love with their simple but clean builds. So I also tried to achieve the same look or feel with this project. There are no modifications for this one, I just used the "Heavy user parts" included in the model kit. So its still just an OOTB build. I also changed the color scheme, minimalist style with a few random hex pattern, which is inspired by my friend Fritz (on his EVA 00 build). So there, C&C are always welcome for improvement. Thanks!

Hello again. Its an HGM Val Walo, I think its a 1/550 scale. Here's what i did... added panel lines, cut the armor and fill it up with pseudo-internals, added some plaplates, rods, IC's and pins for additional details. I also changed the original color scheme a bit. I think thats all. C & C's are always welcome and I hope you like it. :embarrased:

Thank you! ^_^

Hello, here's my humble Corebooster. :embarrased: Not much mods, I tried to focus on the painting and finish as usual. Just add some panel lines on the body/top (not sure what to call it), changed the turrets using styrene tubes and IC sockets. Also added some highlights on the color scheme. Thats it! C&C are always welcome! ^_^

Thank you!  :-)

Hello! My little fun build is done! Had a great time with this kit, its a good break from the normal builds. less parts to sand and paint hehehe. Nothing drastic with this kit, just minor detailing using plastrips, beads and koto MSG's. I also widen the sides a bit using 2 scrap hand guard from a 1/144 kit. I also change the color scheme a bit. I also decided to put two pistols just to be a bit different from other GC builds. So that's about it! C & C are always welcome! Thanks! ^_^

« on: February 13, 2009, 10:19:25 PM »
Hello! This is my HGUC Jagd Doga (Quess Paraya Custom). This is one very impressive kit... not much seam works to be done and its a pretty big 1/144 scale kit. It kindda lacks details (well for me) and thats a good thing because you can easily customize it to your preference. What I did was add a few new panel lines, rivet holes and Kotobukiya MSG's. I also alter some of the colors (cables/hose), I still love the OOTB scheme of it.

So that's it, comments and criticisms are always welcome. Thanks! ^_^

This is my Aura Batler Todvierres. I shamelessly copied most of Maestro's techniques on his Leprechaun build. It was a pretty good build for me, I really enjoyed it and I must admit I've learned a lot. The new techniques I applied with this build will be very helpful on future projects. So there, enough talk and more pics!

C & C are most welcome! thanks! ^_^

Fortunately it landed on 2nd place. ^_^  The kit is purely OOTB. Hello! ^_^ Just finished this kit. Its pretty much OOTB no major modifications done, only some detailing, a little change on the color scheme and addition of custom decals by Bandai. For the posing... its a bit static because I have to fix the lower arms coz its rubber and i dont want to chip off and mess up the paint job. :embarrased: Comments and suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you! :D
