WIP HGUC Deep Striker

Hei, Guys. Thought of posting my first WIP here to get some ideas and inputs on the current HGUC Deep Striker that Im building. So basically I started this build about three weeks ago when I get my hands on the OG (Old Grade) 1/144 Ex-S for a steal price of $6 (525 yen), thought of getting another one to bash it into a Deep Striker.  But my friend suggest of gettn the HGUC version of it instead, due to better design and proportion. After gettn the HGUC and a Feb 2003 edition of Dengeki Hobby (which miraculously have a review of the GFF Deep Striker  ), hence started the WIP.

So the green parts are from the old exS kit? Weird plastic color...

Thanx, Ez. Been watching Ur AMX w/ great enthusiasm.  Yea, those greenish plastics are from the OG Ex-S. As much as I question the colour selection, but those OGs are a treasure for spare parts & add ons.  Small update, made some minor adjustments to the lower & upper torso so they become detachable & for easier painting, the same goes for the head, face & incom.

VERY COOL! I've almost picked up that old kit, the hummingbird version so I could combine it with an HGUC and do a hummingbird Ex-S. You're going all-out with the deep striker, I'm looking forward to more progress. What you've done so far looks great.

Thanx Funaka, thought of starting small on an HGUC size. I picked up some SB techniques from U & alotta reference from Mtomczek's Deep Striker, I hope I can build up to the standards though.

I was dissapointed w/ d round thingy result, decided to drop the whole design & re-study the line art. Found out that the lines on the round thingy weren't even fins, so I ended up w/ this result. Laminated plastic strips & made some lines w/ a file.

Latest update on the lower booster extension, add some details, and will still be adding some more to loose the empty look. The extra thrusters need to be bigger, gotta shop but took a rain check due to the pig flu outbreak news in Tokyo.

Rear View, re-position the tail stabilizer, add a polycap & putty for the power cable mount, koto tanks, and side details



And some problems! 
Iv snap fitted the shoulders but having a hard time designing their disassembly for easier painting without masking. Any suggestions??

Next up is detailing the lower additional boosters so they won't look so empty w/ koto parts, pla plate & putty.

Wow I totally missed this back in May... But really nice. The mods fit the design well but seem to be lacking the extra panel lines the shoulders and chest have. I look forward to primer to see how it comes together.

Looking good, the shape is here. I hope you won't have to much cleaning up to do on the epoxy.

@ CT: Thanx, the extra panel lines would come last before cleaning & priming, I think. To make way for the extra add ons.
@ Eze: Majority of the epo putty is there & (took hours to be) sanded, only have to add some more putty to cover up here & there.

And here comes the bad news, guys. Alotta fixing is in place because some parts are either broke/ snapped due to the trip from Japan to Indonesia. More time & patience is needed.
