Just thought I'd show my Claptrap progress (from Borderlands video game). I taped and tacked some of the details for test fitting. It'll stand about 7" tall in the end.

PLMK what you think...thanks!

I think the question you should be asking (after you profess your love) is whether he's going to make copies for sale...  ;)

Hehe! Thanks!

Well, actually, I am thinking of trying to kit this. As of now my plans are to include parts to allow to dress it up as Tyler Cobb's version as well, complete with spikes and Saw. I may also make parts for a few of the DLC Claptraps.

...small update today...

Started work on the "tire guides" at the base of Claptrap's body. Pretty much finished with the front one.

I've spent most of my time this past week waiting on supplies and test fitting the arm recess box. More pics later...

This is really interesting, I loved the Clap-traps and have been thinking of doing the same thing myself. Looking good so far! :)

Why not do a "Clap Trap" group build? I know I'd be interested, how about you?

I'd love a good Wall-E kit too, but if it's kitted (and nice which so far so good), I'd be up for a GB.

I should have said a Group Scratch Build! :D

I'd love a Wall-E kit though as well, I've never watched the movie, but I've always liked the robot designs.

Cool! Thanks so much for the kind words!

I plan on kitting this, actually, if I can get enough interest. I'm on overdrive to try and finish this and make it look awesome.

Earlier, I was drawing some of the extra accessories I plan on including so that the builder has a few choices as to what Cl4p-TP they want to dress it as. I think it'll be neat!

Nothing crazy new....progress has been slow....just got a big Plastruct shipment to help finish some of the details (eye, arms, etc).

The main body is together....

....building up the pegs on the bottom which will be filled with resin for strength....

....dressing up the "arm pits"...the recessed are under the arms....once done, I'll glue the recessed box (minus details) to the main body.

Later,
Joe

Thanks, Mike! Dude that Chubu build....holy crap! It looks awesome!

Ok, here are some shots of the "arm pits". Pretty simple I think. I built the arm recesses using three assemblies. I still need to add some more detail, mainly a vent cover in the lower square cutout.

Recessed box, tubing detail and cover....

...all put together...

...test fit with body.

I'm finishing up the main body touch ups. Making sure corners and edges are as square as possible. I installed the eye recess and you can see that I've come up with the parts for the eye. I'm still working out how I want to create the lens aperture look on the eye tube. I might use individual .010" styrene strips custom cut to give it the same feel as the video game model.

I just recently got and started playing "Borderlands" for my (new) Xbox 360, and I nw understand why you titled this thread "Pottymouth Droid."  I must say that I love the game and I love what you're doing with this.  I wish you luck in this endeavor, and I'm really excited to see this finished.
I do other things, too.

Thanks all so far!  Yeah, I'm not sure if I like him because I also have a pottymouth, too...hehe!!!! But yeah, I thought the title fit perfectly after it was suggested I change the name (for good reasons).

Well, I had to put this on hold for a few weeks due to some important reasons. I left off at the point of filling the master body.

As you can see, I tried filling with resin before realizing that the arm box side-walls were bowing in at a slight angle making it difficult for the parts that go in it to fit properly.

I ended up having to tear some of the body apart in order to get the chunk of resin out.

I fixed the arm boxes and decided to use foam instead to fill the master.

Then I shaved off the excess. It's now ready for the top plate that will close off the master. I'm looking at having this rotary cast for a hollow center to allow for electronics.

After the top plate goes on, I'll begin body work and then start adding the details. More to come later....
