So here's an idea I was just thinking about. Who (here at FFF) are your biggest inspirations when it comes to the hobby? Who gives you ideas and makes you want to try new techniques out? (No, I'm not fishing for compliments here, but thanks anyway :embarrased:   :shifty:)

For me it's usually LucaZ, Franscesco, Maschinen Kreuger, and Lincoln Wright these days. Erix, Whitebase and Eday also post some great stuff when I'm in the mood for Gunpla. And at other boards it's Adam Wilder, Chuck Doan, Mike Rinaldi, Mig, Marc Reusser and really quite a bit more.

What about you guys? Who's on your "watch" list? Who do you learn from and emulate?

Well FF you really DID inspire me to want to do great things with my models.  I think it was your Hi-Zack that really did it for me.  Green is by far my favorite color, and the green/gold combo on that was, to be crude, an eye-gasm to me.  I've been doing my damndest to get a MG Hi-Zack since I first saw yours, though I know mine won't come out nearly as good, but I guess for now it's my grail  :)

The other one that really did it for me was your Kampfer.

Other than that, the AoZ Hazel builds were really inspirational for me, as well as the 1/144 Meteor (though I KNOW that my skills to be able to upgrade mine like that are far FAR down the road).

I know I haven't given names, but kits instead, but that's what I tend to remember are the kits.

A bit of a copout answer, but no-one person really inspires me on an ongoing basis, I just love seeing what fresh stuff people come out with.

That said, Vic, Erix and Tomczek have left me equal parts stunned and jealous more than once each, and Luca's scratchbuilds make me wish I did more of that kind of thing myself rather than making commercial kits. :P

Obviously there's Fichtenfoo, but like I always say, I hate him because he's creative, good, has kids and he still manages to knock out a project REALLY fast.  :D

Erix, Whitebase and eday are awesome detailers and modifiers.

I like Ezechiel's builds. I learned A LOT from watching him work with plaplate. And, he build slow like me, so he's cool.  ;)

As far as other forums, there's chuckw on the Finescale forum who's epic Helldiver (ther airplane, not the labor) project makes me want to tackle an airplane kit again.

Clean finish/paint: Tomczek and Funaka

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. I'm still not real happy with my efforts in this area...
