Finally finished a plastic kit. Been very busy with the 9-5 and other peoples commissions so it was nice just to get something a bit refreshing in. Kit was challenging. Very delicate, but lots of nice little details and gimmicks thrown in to something so small. It really does feel like you're putting together a mini PG or MG with all the parts. Also tried some of the MIG oils. They seemed to work really nicely and I can't wait to try them out on something larger. Overall it was a fun kit to test out some new tricks with. Pics could be better...I don't hate them, just didn't get my adjustments right until this latest session. Oh well, any feedback is welcome and enjoy!

Model News Feed / Hitekkai Ikaruga by Kotobukiya
« on: April 19, 2011, 07:52:05 PM »
So, Kotobukiya continues their onslaught of awesome releases. The main ship from the Dreamcast game Ikaruga gets a plamo release this summer. It was previously released only as a limited GK from WF. I have a recast that I've yet to build.  Ikaruga is one of my favorite STG/shmups of all time. Non scale I believe.

Preorders at Amiami or your favorite hobby place.

Model News Feed / 1/35 Assault Suit Leynos
« on: April 19, 2011, 07:36:13 PM »
Just came out today. Not much info or buzz about this kit, but I love the IPs that Plum is giving attention to lately (Darius Burst, Silpheed). Assault Suit Leynos is based off an old school side scrolling mecha shooter from the 90s (Genesis).

Hopefully I can still pick this up for a summer buy/build.

Model Gallery / MG Son Goku!!
« on: January 24, 2010, 07:43:16 PM »
OOB build up of the new MG Figurise Son Goku. Really been looking forward to this actually. It was, by-and-large a hassle free build. Some seams to take care of and some waterslides  will give advanced modelers something more to deal with.

Had a lot of fun with this, although I borked the "go" decal on Goku's back and had to use  :twitch: a sticker. Which actually wasn't all that bad. It's just that the fabric folds made for a tricky time applying the decal and it didn't help I didn't use enough Mr Mark Setter (for the waterslide decal).

Enjoy!

Model Gallery / HGUC Zeta Gundam Completed.
« on: May 07, 2009, 12:22:10 AM »
Finally finished my first Gunpla in months and thought I'd share.  :embarrased:

It's a bit cleaner paint-up than I've done in recent times. Didn't do a full on oil or enamel wash like I should have and did a chalk pastel wash (sorry)!

Overall, the scheme came out better than I thought it would. Hope you all enjoy! Feel free to comment and critique away!

Model Gallery / Mecha Robot Challenge!!/Godannar Diorama-Completed!
« on: October 30, 2008, 11:59:07 PM »
I think I sort of indicated earlier that this diorama has been completed for a while now. Just never got around to posting any pics until now. So I thought I'd share with you my latest work. I threw in some cool Kaiyodo products like the old Robot Museum figures and some Revoltechs by Katsuhisa Yamaguchi to assist Godannars' ultimate battle! The Godannar resin kit is an original GK from Kaiyodo of course. The Mimetic beast was sculpted from scratch.

It was a lot of fun to build. It was quite a learning experience all around. I know what I'd change if I did another one of these (grass is WAY out of scale) :embarrased: . I hope you enjoy!
