\n\/ Intro<\/p>\n

\"\"What’s my secret to finishing so many kits lately? Having 3 or 4
\nstarted and having to stop while waiting on parts, decals,
\netc… Then I end up having 2-3 kits that just need painted
\nor a few pieces worked on to finish. Anyway, while waiting
\non decals for my Rick Dias, I started on my 1\/100 V2 Assault.
\nIt’s a great testbed for mobility mods and detail-ups as it
\nreally lacks in both.<\/p>\n

I started out by looking at the
\nbox pictures and seeing that this thing looks
\nreally “squat” and fat. It’s smaller
\nthan a normal 1\/100, but that’s because it’s a
\nsmaller MS. Still though it needed some lengthening
\nto the thighs to thin it out a bit and make it
\nlook cooler. In the first pic you can see the
\nthighs were lengthened by about 3\/16″. This
\nsmall change has already impreved the silouette.
\nI also hollowed out the sensor looking thing on
\nthe crotch armor and made it magnetically attach
\nto the base V2 crotch. I’ll be filling out that
\nsensor with detail and a clear lense.<\/p>\n

In the next two images you can see
\nthat I’ve been slicing the knees apart. I want
\nto put the knee armors on a joint so that they
\ncan bend upward when the knee is bent. (see pic
\n4 between fingers) I’ll be doing both the Assault
\nknees and the plain V2 which luckily come seperately.
\nI’ve sliced the base V2 knees apart and will be
\nadding detail behind and inbetween. I did the
\nsame thing with the rear skirt armor so that they
\nflip-up. (pic 2)<\/p>\n

In the next 2 images (4 & 5)
\nyou can see that I added a small Yellow Submarine
\nball joint to the waist. The waist was one part
\nso I cut it in half, filled it and added the B.
\nJoint. Makes for a much more dynamic pose. Looks
\nlike I’ll have to add detail to the area behind
\nthe leg posts where I filled.<\/p>\n

08.17.2006 \u00c2\u00bb More<\/p>\n

The V2 is coming along with most
\nmajor mods completed. I’ve filled in some gaps
\non the shoulders and made new details (not visible)
\nthat go inbetween the two claw-like parts of the
\nshoulder armors. The thigh lengthening worked
\nout well as this would look REALLY squat otherwise.
