I know&#8230; weird combo!<br \/>\nBoth are relatively easy kits and the money was right so I<br \/>\nagreed to do my first commission work ever.<\/p>\n<p>The Strike Noir will be Out of Box and stock<br \/>\ncolor scheme except that the client wants the yellow parts<br \/>\nto be metallic gold.<\/p>\n<p>The Hi-Zack will have some modifications such<br \/>\nas metal replacement pipes instead of those god-awful rubber<br \/>\nones, some metal thruster bells, and again, stock colors except<br \/>\nthe the yellow should be gold. Nothing like a little bling!<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, I started the Strike Noir (SN) on Sunday<br \/>\nand timed how long it would take to complete. Since Sunday<br \/>\nI spent 8 hours and have the SN completely cut, sanded, puttied,<br \/>\nand ready for primer. Here&#8217;s a pic for the client:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"anInprogImage\" src=\"http:\/\/www.fichtenfoo.com\/images\/prog-commission01\/noir-01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"460\" height=\"240\" \/><\/p>\n<p>BTW, those multi-compartment trays are ~$2 each<br \/>\nfrom IKEA and are VERY useful! Unfortunately, no lids, but<br \/>\nuseful none the less. I have 5 of them and they&#8217;re all always<br \/>\nin use!<\/p>\n<p>Today I&#8217;ll start cutting out the Hi-Zack (HZ).<br \/>\nI intend on painting them both at once. THis will make the<br \/>\nprocess quicker for me since there will be some cross-kit<br \/>\ncolors such as the primer, reds, internal and gold part colors,<br \/>\nand clear coats.<\/p>\n<p class=\"subhead\">10.29.07 \u00c2\u00bb Primed<\/p>\n<p>I finished building the Hi-Zack (easy build)<br \/>\nin about 7 hours. Yesterday I primed all of the parts for<br \/>\nboth kits. I was feeling a bit sick yesterday with a runny<br \/>\nnose thanks to those lovable petrie dishes I call my daughters<br \/>\nand today I feel worse. So perhaps I&#8217;ll just wait a day or<br \/>\n2 to get back on this rather than make a mess in my respirator.<br \/>\nI sorted all the parts by what color they&#8217;ll be painted and<br \/>\nnow I just have to wait.
