AD 2915 - General Ottila elected leader of Trocken and establishes "the 100 years of peace".
AD 3017 - Upon the death of General Ottila civilization breaks down and in-fighting between colonies begins.

OK 100 years of peace...but that means that Gen.Otilla lived that long? (102 years + his current age in 2915). Any adivice about life spam/hi-tech medicine on Trocken?

I was wondering when someone would notice that. I figure that since the average lifespan of a human now is greater than it was 100 years ago, then 1000 years from now it could have the potential to double or more.

Haha, unless they come up with some drugs to prolong the useful timespan I'm not sure doubling the lifespan would be a good thing  Tongue

I figure with technology the way it is going in the health aspect they would be useing cloned organs, age reguvenateing stuff and with gene manipulation people could age slower... so it could be possible to live say 150  easily...

Hey I'm new here but I have been coming to this site for a wile. I'm a Friend of jubjub64 and he got me into minimal G. my theory on this is that medicine has evolved to the point that you can keep some one alive until their late hundreds but not in productive lives. After about 125 the body just won’t sustain life without help. So Gen.Otilla probably had himself kept alive throughout the hundred years of peace to see it through. He had his son late in life to give his people an heir and his son has been running the government for sometime. The general is just kept alive as a figure head for the people until the hundred years are over. It’s all politics in the end. Just an idea I had.

I don't know.... I think 1000 years from now he'd be able to walk, talk, and be an active person. I don't think there'd be room for vegetable leaders and would hate to see that. He died of old age complications to be sure, but not a veggie. Plus I think he actually did lead well and would had tried to avoid politics... especially those that corrupted Earth to the point that it had.

Not to squash your ideas... that's just not what I had in mind for him.

I'm starting to write a main story for Minimal G that will bring these guys to life better. Just give me some time there. Big Grin

I'd have to agree that, with medicine where it is today prolonging life wouldn't be too difficult in 1000 years, even in terms of being healthy & productive into the 100's.

cloning, stem cells, nanotechnology, drugs being built on a molecualr level.....it's all gotta lead somewhere.
