Refresh our memories... it's been a while. What kind of paint was it?

Testors enamel spray paints?  I think that is the only kind.  I don't use enamels, but I imagine their bond is quite a bit better than acrylic and will require more than Formula 409 to remove.  Not to mention that sprays tend to lead to thicker layers of paint.

Have you tried Castrol Super Clean?

Yeah, Testors spray paints are mainly enamels, and can not be removed with Forumla 409 - you actually need to use a solvent - brake fluid, thinner, oven cleaner - though I must admit I've never removed paint with either brake fluid or oven cleaner....

I can't log onto the old forum, and haven't been able to for quite some time, but I think you were the one I recommended Castrol Super Cleaner to...you can find it at Wal-Mart in the automotive section.  I had testor spray and brush enamels on a 8 year old kit...it came off like warm butter...sweet.

Give it a try...it is no more caustic than 409..but wear gloves just the same.

Later,
Taz
