Built OOB. I changed the color scheme by adding a lighter color on the underside (as with most real planes). It's a custom mix of Sky Blue. It was a very easy and smooth build. Nothing broke, cleanup and painting was fast.

BTW, that spot in the middle slot is a scratch from removing the flight stand.

Lovely colours! My eye keeps being drawn to the leading edge of the wings, the way the saturation appears to increase across the colour transition is great, as are the scratches.

Can I ask how big it works out to be?

Love the paint job! Nice touch using the blue for the underside. Great work

Excellent paintjob, I love the subtle pre-shaded panels (at least, I think it's because of pre-shading Tongue)!

Thanks guys! Big Grin Big Grin

@Will vale: Wingspan is about 20 cm. It's quite small.

@Sharkdog: Yup, all the panels are shaded. I applied the overall base color first then painted the centers of the panels with a slightly lighter shade. I'm not sure if that's pre or post shading, I'm always confused with both Razz. I just use whatever method works for the situation. I like my models very subtly shaded to the point that the effect is subliminal LOL. I do heavy shading only if I don't own the kit and its owner wants it so.

I have this kit unbuilt in my stash. I have never seen one that is finished, it looks great! I like what you did with the blue, I think I'll remember that for when I get around to doing mine.

Not a fan of the stock base too much though, this one screams for a little diorama of some grasslands or something similar.

Wow, this looks stunning. I love the tones and colors. Great weathering too. Exactly enough.
It seems like it was a relaxing kit build. (nothing broke)  Big Grin
Nice work.

It looks like your images are so nice that our local web store has stolen them:

http://www.mightyape.co.nz/product/Nausicaa-Gunship-of-the-Valley-of-the-Wind-172-Model-Kit/20630039/

Bit shabby if they didn't ask you, cool if they did! I suspect the former since quite a few of their kits are illustrated by grabbed-from-the-web pictures of build-ups far better than the original manufacturer's ones.
