Its wips like this that reinforce how amateur my efforts are. This blows my mind. I am suitably impressed.

Seriously.

Glad you're liking it! :D

Recently added portholes to the three hatches:

And made some progress with the claw:

Which is posable, and extendable:

Also added half round rod to the three telescoping sections, to resemble some sort of hydraulic tubing.

Those portholes on the hatch look great, they give it a really cool b-movie sci fi look, and I like the claw, very nice shape to it

Acting on a few ideas from others, have a slight change to the claw arm:

Put a ball joint in it!

Seems to be much more 'useful' arrangement.

:)

I love the portholes, they add a lot - all sorts of weird insect/deep sea diver/hockey mask connotations :)

The claw does look more useful now, although it was quite funny before imagining what it'd be used for... Where do you get, or how to do you make the ball joints?

You should live stream your building sessions or something. :P I'm so intrigued on how you go about building such wonderful pieces.

That ball joint on the claw arm is sweet! Much better now, I can imagine it loading ammunition into the top hatch

Well, in the few hours I've managed to put in on this in the last couple of days, I fully intended to finish the arm.

So, instead, I've added air intakes and exhausts for the thigh-mounted 'engines':

And decided to add three toes to each foot, to stop them from looking too much like sink plungers:

And this is how it stands tonight:

Oh, the toes are articulated, so no worries about uneven ground.

;)

Little tiny bit more:

Air intakes for the tri-lobed engine, with mesh inserts:

Also started on some sort of exhaust for both the interior engine/generators, more to follow!

:)
