For those lik eme who have some skills in picture making it's clear. Making this kind of pics is not natural for me.  I mostly shoot outside with a 50 mm with my 24:36 FM 2 and a 18/135 on my 550D.
Numeric camera are really amazing. There are so much possibilities, you can set the ISO, the WB etc. All these things were impossible with a traditional 24/36 but if you had several boxes and lenses.

What got me through with Alclad before was just a clear spray of Future to give it a nice clear gloss coat.  I never had success with it till I cleared it as it was just too fragile.  Your Mr Super Iron looks beautiful and maybe easier to do...

Yup, Shallow DOF is my life. In video it is hard to make things look like film. Do you use filters or polasrizers at all Matt?
By the way, I got those HOYA stackable Macro filters. I think you would like them a lot for your setup. Cheap at only about $100+ and they are awesome quality.

Speaking of paint.. for Mr. Color paint (metals in particular), can I use X20 thinner? Or do I HAVE to use Mr Color thinner? I have Mr. Color 400, but I'm always a little hesitant to use the mr color paints, as I feel like they may be a little tricky?

Hey Grail.  Is the X20 Lacquer?  I don't know about it.  I use either Mr. Color thinner or PlamoColor thinner.  On this kit I only used the Plamo thinner and it works very well.  Don't be afraid of the Mr. Color paints.  They are super easy and I think even easier then Acrylics.  Just like any paint, once you know how to thin it your golden.

I haven't used any filters since I started shooting digital back in 2005.  There really is no need for filters now unless you are shooting film.

Superb model, beautifully constructed and photographed. Enjoyed the video tutorial too... only now I have camera envy and no disposable income to resolve the problem

Awesome work, Matt. This beast really shines.
It was quite a treat to follow your WIP on this one, and the videos you made were quite clear and informative :)

Great work!

Thanks man!   I have ordered another one for myself.  I liked the way it turned out so much.  Hopefully it won't take 8 months to complete next time.
