Replacement Parts — How and where to order them from...

This should help anyone not familiar with where to get parts from and how to go about ordering them.
Rainbow Ten
url:
http://www.rainbowten.co.jp/english
Everything can be found on
Rainbow Ten
's site in the "Shopping" and "Order Information" table in the left frame.
•
TAMIYA&BANDAI PARTS ORDER
(under "Shopping")
note:
R10 calls them "after parts"
•
HOW TO ORDER
(under "Order Information")
•
FAQ
(under "Order Information")
Hobby Link Japan
url:
http://www.hlj.com
HLJ
will only order complete runners or parts which are separate (like decals). Ordering information can be found on their FAQ page titled,
Can I order parts for a model kit? How do I do that?
Bandai America
url:
http://www.bandai.com/contact/contact_cust...merservice.html
For those of us who live in North America, this might be the best resource to save on high shipping costs. Just fill out their "Email Customer Service" form. Be sure to select "Replacement Parts" in the drop-down "Category:" of the form. This is for N. American released kit parts only. As with
HLJ
, orders are for complete runners of parts.
note:
Bandai USA will
not
ship parts outside of the United States and Canada
note:
Bandai America
resource added — thanks to joshmunkey

OK so apparently Rainbow10 has shut down Bandai parts order, and Bandai US has never replied to my emails I've sent them (first one was over a year ago). Any other ideas for getting parts replaced?

Yeah, I tend to avoid ordering from HLJ as they love to rape me on the shipping for stuff. Oh, and they tend to be kind of imbecilic. Take for instance yesterday; tried ordering runner "K" from MG destiny (the one that was chromed in the WOL version). On their order page they have very specific information that is needed to place the order; I included all this information in my original email. A few hours later I have an email from them saying they can't place the order without that information and ask me to send it....... Go figure

Thought you might be interested in an update. I found this on R10's BBS.
> Hello,
>
> It's been almost a year now since you've suspended orders for Bandai parts. It's too bad, because there must be a huge demand considering the fragile nature of plastic model kits.
>
> Since you've suspended your service, I've had a huge need to replace a lot of my broken Gundam models. Do you know if there is a way to order replacement parts elsewhere? How did you guys get the spare parts before and is there a way for someone in great need like me to do the same?
BANDAI has amended their conditions of taking parts order, and now it's very very strict. They offer only 3 parts per person now and we can not just make a big order. Moreover, we had a big trouble to sort out one parts after another, and which parts goes who, because BANDAI will not specily the parts name or other, but just pack them together. We concluded we are incapable fo this service any more. Please kindly understand.

So I actually called Bandai and I have to say they have one of the best customer services and the lady was quite helpful. She said Bandai Japan will send parts and runners for models. Email
bandaiactionkit@bandai.com
.

The correct email is:
bandaiactionkit@bandai.co.jp
After 2 emails back and forth they are shipping my parts and they should be here with in the week, no charge to me.

I have used this service as well. It is a one time deal where they will replace a damaged or missing part. However, it took more like 3 months before I got the part. I have seen posts in other forums where they got their parts within a couple of weeks; that was just not my experience. I had to continue to send multiple e-mails before it was finally shipped. Bandai sends out the part clipped with a bit of the sprue remaining surrounding it. They will not send out the entire runner, which makes sense for them, though I do not know what they do with the rest of the runner

So all you need to do is email Bandai and tell them the parts you need?
