Hello,
I must admit that I'm a bit confused, I'm taking a look around checking all the resin kits producers and I don't understand the filosophy behind those kits.

I don't understand wich kits are original and who made the original masters, so I'm asking for some help to find wich are the best producers and where to go to buy something ( online of course )

Thank you in advance for your help.

Basically if it comes from e2046 or hobbyfan, it's a recast and should NOT be purchased. They're basically bootleggers regardless of the quality. It's stealing and should not be supported.

Although they both do sell originals from G-System Shop and G-System Models.  I get all my G-System kits from HobbY Fan.  They ar are about 10%-15% cheaper than the G-System website and shipping is only $5-$15.

The thing to keep in mind with resin kits is that there is a big difference in the quality of the resin used in many legit vs bootleg kits. A very high quality Japanese or Korean resin kit for the most part use good quality resin that has a very weak odor, compared to many bootleg kits that use cheap resin which has a very strong odor to it. I compare it to opening a tank of gasoline inside of your home, another thing to consider is that with a bootleg kit you get lots of warped parts.

I try to buy my kits from a legit source if possible, but there are times when you have no choice but to buy a bootleg because the original is no-longer being made.

Yea i try to get it from the original but sometimes it's long sold out. Although in regards to e2046, sometimes, at least with figures, not mecha, it's being sold through E from the original casters. Most of the time it's from small shops who only produce limited quantities.

Really? I only have legit G-System kits (4 of them) and I almost get a headache when I open the box,the smell is so strong.Unless G-Sys uses cheap resin? Or maybe it's just from being in the box for awhile? I also saw my friends kit from E2046 and it looked perfect and didn't smell much at all?(I really don't understand who steals and who doesn't though,so I just stick to the known legit stuff mostly)

I would imagine you could find lot's or resin kit locations from this thread too?

When it comes to resin casting in places like China (this is where g-system and e2046 has their casting done) it's a real mix bag, sometimes you get a kit that smells bad and some times you get a kit that does not smell at all, it's a really a role of the dice with many resin kits.

I have had my share of kits from G-system and e4026 that smell bad and some that don't smell at all as well.

I guess the type of resin used depends on who is hired to do the job at the time.

Thanks Clee. I agree that you have to "roll the bones" with a lot of this model stuff  Happy Smirk
I never seem to know who is who for resin. The legit G-Sys kits I have are great casts, and the resins seem solid and quality. I do have a pretty decent sense of smell, so maybe I just notice it more too.
Thanks.
Hope you find your kits Dino. Just work through that link and a lot of other sources to buy from pop up.

Just because a resin kit smells bad doesn't mean the quality of the resin is bad.
