Lots of decal softener. Plus you may have to trim the decals a bit almost like a puzzle then place them back on.

How do you guys cut around the decal? Do you trim and get as close as possible to the decal or do you guys leave a border? Will the clear border of the decal show?

I cut as close to the print as posible. The border won't show if you place the decal on a glossy surface and use setting solutions.

Regarding the print your own solutions?
Does anyone have any experience with them? I'm looking for a way to get 1/48 blood chits for the back of the pilots in my diorama. I figure between the blood chits and the patches it would make for an interesting investment.
I take it this is regular paper (as far as the printer sees it).
It comes with software, but I'm an apple guy, and the chances that its both are very slim. Is the software required for the printing, or is it just a bunch of templates??

I have a question that regards to decals, but more on the buying side.
Are the decals from SamuelDecal.com the same decals that come in the kits? Or are they variations and custom designs?
Also, are these wetslides, decals, or the dry press on ones?
I'm moist interested in the Crossbone decals as i just ordered that MG

yes and no. They sell waterslide copies of the bandai decals as well as custom designs they did themselves or gathered from other people. You can custom design your own artwork and submit it to samueldecal and have them print out decals of your own design.

Waterslide. I'm pretty sure their website states the decal type.

Here's a link-

many of the 1/72 aircraft decals are near perfect for Gundam models and if you use the "micro scale system the carrier film practically disappears!

Hey guys,
anyways i have an MG MK.II Titans v2.0 and a MG Zeta v2.0 coming, and i was wondering as to what i could do to change from the stock design...
...anyways im really not familiar with the Zeta series, and so i was looking at the SamuelDecal.com site and trying to find decal sets that work with them. I was wondering if anyone knew which specific ones work with the MKIITitans and the Zeta.
thanks aton

Bandai makes waterslide sets that work with both the Zeta Ver. 2.0 (Bandai part GD-20) and Gundam Mk.II Ver. 2.0 (Bandai part GD-19). They might take a little hunting to track down, but they'd be worth it.

Does anyone know a good way of removing Dry Transfers? I made a cockup with some with some which, while hideable, is annoying, and I'd rather remove them. Currently they're on top of Tamiya acrylic gloss (I didn't think it was worth putting down FFA since it was a rub-on and it was gloss already) and I fear anything that will take the decal off will mess up the paint, too...

Hi,
I had a similar problem in the past, and I managed to remove the transfers by gently scrubbing them with a knife, and used a masking tape to remove the lifting parts of the transfers.
There were some marks left, which I managed to hide with weathering, but this may not be possible with models other than armor.
Another method that I didn't try, but may work, is to use the micro sol (the blue bottle?), as it can soften the decals and remove it.
You need to take into consideration that repainting may not be avoided..

The best way I've personally found to remove transfer decals is plain ol' clear tape. It may take a couple of tries, but if you're careful it won't pull up the paint.

Yes, I found this out the hard way when placing a dry-transfer a little too close to a previously applied one. <_<

Thanks guys, I might try the tape thing but at this point I'm walking on eggshells with this model and it doesn't look /bad/ right now. >_>; Cheers for the advice though.
