HGUC 1/144 : AMS-129 GEARA ZULU

Long time since my last post here

Before I post my latest work, I would like to thanks Mr. FichtenFoo for his original work which inspired me to build this kit. I've seen his work "Patrol in the Debris Field" and really impress. Since that time, I wanna make a robot flying in space / with live thruster (LEDs), but never have a chance to do it.   


The kit I selected is Geara Zulu (really falling in love with its design). I started this kit around the beginning of July, planning to complete it in 17 days, to attend in mid year contest. 17 days seems too many to complete HGUC kit for somebody else, but for me it's quite a tight schedule. I'm quite a slow builder, and have limit freetime each day to do modeling.

I planned to add five LEDs into the kit, The red one is inserted in the head, another two blue LEDs are in backpack and another two blue LEDs in both thigh. Planning to place 5 LEDs into 1/144 kit is a kind of painful (and got more pain at the end after I realized that I've soldered it a wrong pole in head  ), wiring them together after finish painting all parts.

The 4 AA batteries was hidden in base, since there's no spaces left in body to place a battery ^^ !
Coloring it with a general shading,  added a chipped with enamel paint then applied a light pigment
, nothing special with color & weathering process.

Wow, good job on the lighting, it looks pretty believable and the light doesn't shine through the plastic like in some kits.
And the painting/weathering look great!
