So my neighbor stopped by yesterday and let me know that he was at Hobbytown USA and had them put a 1/100 Sandrock EW ver behind the counter for me. They also had the Serpent and EW Wing Zero 1/100s. While talking to the clerk I know there and picking the Sandrock up, he was telling me that the Gundam kits are selling surprisingly well. They've got newer releases too like the MG Goku and tons of 00 kits.

So check out your local HTUSA if you're looking for Gunpla. The prices were surprisingly reasonable for a brick and mortar store. The Sandrock and other EW 1/100 kits were $25 each.

We have our local model building club meetings at the one near me.  They have some new releases as well.  A MG Blue Frame but it's like $75.00.  I just get supplies from my Hobby Town.  They have a good supply of Alclad at my Hobby Town.  They also have a good range of MIG pigments at $11.00 each.  OUCH!!!  Some times my A*s hurts after getting screwed there.  LOL

Wow... that definitely is rape then. I guess it depends on the store owner then as I believe most stores are individually owned.

Mine will get Gunpla in every once in a while; lately it's just been 00 kits (mostly just SD and 1/144, though they did get the individually packed 00 and 0-Raiser in a while back).  They have the HD MKII 2.0s for $70 each or so.  I bought some Alclad Chrome for $30!!!!! a while ago too.

Yeah, I basically stick to supplies and Tamiya at mine.  They overprice their kits terribly.  I'd only buy from them if it was a last resort sort of thing.

Hello folks,
The owner at my local Hobbytown has told me that they do not set prices on kits. They said that Corporate sets prices. They just place a big order and whatever comes in is what they put out. This can be a good thing. I once bought a 1/100 Virtue there for $32.49. That clearly was a mistake. The next time they got that same kit in stock, it was priced $56.99. I got a few OO Gundam 1/144 kits recently for $14.99 ea. which is reasonable. They have a MG Freedom there now for $57, which is pretty good. Also the 1/100 Astray Green frame for $36. They do tend to get some older stuff from time to time as well, like the 1/100 Sandrock Mike was looking for. Right before Christmas this year, I bought a MSIA ZZ Gundam for $14.99. That figure is like six years old, so I was psyched to see it turn up there.
So talk to the person in charge of ordering Gundam at your local HobbyTown and let them know that they need to start getting more Gunpla. Then keep checking to see what comes in. Getting boxes on your front door is great, but it is still fun to bring a kit home from a local shop.

They just opened up a new shop down here.  A welcome sight indeed!  I was talking with the owner, told him I bought my first Bandai kit from a HT.  Since that discussion, he is carrying a bunch of different 1/144, 1/100, and an occasional MG.  I'd love to support his business, but I feel like I need to take a jar of vaseline in with me...MG Zeong $100.

My local HT just closed...which is terrible because the next closest one is not only rather far away, but they're main focus is RC cars (which are sweet, but $$$$$$$$$$$$) - and have the bare minimum of Tamiya paints and literally not Gundam/Gunpla items.

*Sigh*...great.
