Number Three! This one was done as a commission so no poses for the pics. Don't want to risk damaging it!

Thanks guys! Those metal transfers are actually pretty cool. A bit of a learning curve for application but once figured out worked out really well.

Taylorism... you made me use a dictionary! I am my own factory and production line! The process is the same for most of these OOB builds so I can see the Taylorism aspect and I do break it down and even have a list of things that need to happen in order.

Cut/Sand/Glue
Minor modifications for metal parts
Ultrasonic Cleaner (removes sanding particles)
Dry
Skewer
Prime
Sort parts by intended color
Paint (broken further down in color order for easiest masking or lights before darks if needed)
Future Coat 1
Panel Line Wash
Future Coat 2
Decals
Final Future Coat (appropriate sheen, flat, satin, etc)
Final Build
Photograph
Repeat

Metal Transfers - MT01, MT02, and MT03. They're on the metal parts page.
http://akocreation.com/pages/metalparts.html

As for thrusters... I buy at least one set of just about every thruster that MechaSkunk and Ako put out and make sure I usually have at least one set in my stash. That way I can match them up and order more if needed.

Hey Mike,

I have a bunch of these transfers but haven't used any.  You had mentioned a learning curve.  Is there a trick to get them to stick.  (Hey check me out, I'm a rapper)

LOL! Well, they're odd... they come on a clear sheet, but the fronts of the transfers are behind the sheet. I thought at first they were peel and stick, but it's more odd than that... you need to cut out around them, like a square, then fold the sticky clear part to get a lip to grab the transfer with tweezers. Then you can just stick it on. They stick really well, but at the small size it's tricky to handle. You can't, like I thought put them down like dry transfers... ie put the whole sticker sheet down, peel up the film and the transfer is left down. The transfer wants to stick to the sheet. At least mine were that way. I still love em though and will be getting more.

I love the paint work! It's always so perfect. Do you have a break down of the colors you used/mixed anywhere?

Wow, really? No mixing to get the main red pieces that color? Dang, maybe it's my monitor but my Tamiya red does not look anywhere near that awesome when I use it.

You have to make sure you've got a nice solid white base coat down first. I use white primer (Mr. Base White) then a coat of Tamiya White over that. Same with yellow and orange too.
