Nice... that leaves wiggle room. Wonder how much a 3v camera battery weighs...

Yup. I have asked for some additional info from the company including prices. If you guys are interested I will post the info once I get it.
Why a 3v camera battery?

Because a 3v camera batter is about the size of a single AA, but almost a CM shorter. Therefore less heavy, but more charge than a watch/hearing aid battery. And 3v is great for most LEDs.

Gotcha!! I was just thinking that it would also be cool to add LEDs or some neon glow underneath. Although the base you posted has LEDs you might get an effect close to what it would look like if LEDs were added to the underside of the racer. I don't know.

Maybe you will want to take a look at inductive power.
Some ideas here:

I think that a minimal circuit is very cheap. But you've to burn your hands with a welder.

I'm not complaining. I have no problem making investments into my kits to get them the way I want.

I just got my Markov Racer and of course I had to rip open right away. What a cool little kit. Top notch casting and super simple to assemble. I see only one seem on the main engine cowling, not a big deal. The cleaning of the gates will be the hardest thing but other than that should be fairly straight forward other than getting the thing to float. Nice job ALB. What's next?

Just got this info from them:
Dear Matt,
The maximum weight it can support is 600grams. Surely we can send to your
country.
Best regards
Coco CHAN
So shouldn't be a problem supporting the Markov.
