Greetings,
Sorry I am new to all of this and still learning. Can some one tell me how to achieve this dark metallic look for the frame of this pg strike? I am really liking the frame color of this strike and would love to replicate this look for the frame of my pg 00.

As far as you can tell from the picture, what color paint is used for the base and highlight/shading on this frame?

If possible, can someone list a step by step on achieving this look starting from the base coat?

Thank you in advance, would really appreciated!

It looks like gunmetal with a bit of pre or post-shading. Make a quick search for "pre-shading" and post-shading" and you should find in-depth in-progress and help threads explaining the way to do it.

My guess would be that the base is metallic gun metal with a post shade of black or dark gray on the edges...or is it the other way around with a black or dark gray base with metallic high lights? Thanks.

*This is just a reference for future members if they happen to be seeking this as well

I just found a video on youtube that shows a modeler shading with metallics over black, its at the very end.

If you look closely you will see it's a base coat of black for pre shade and then he sprays his metalics.  Thats how I do it.  Much easier to get the effect you are looking for rather than post shading with black.  The pre shade of black gives more room for error.

I manage to get a similar effect by :

- gloss black as the foundation
- Gunze Super Metallic Stainless steel on the center of the panel

You can also do this by spraying your metallics first, then post-shading with clear smoke.
