 Razz

This is my latest finished piece, the AFS Kestrel. It is an original design based on a Wave AFS Mk1.

All gear is sculpted in place with Milliput Standard Yellow. The model was painted with Tamiya acrylics. The gear was painted with Vallejo Model Color. The majority of weathering is with  W&N and 502 oils, even the accumulated dust and dried mud on the feet and legs. Only a light dusting of pigments were used at the end. The most challenging part was deciding to dirty up the gear.

Additional images can be found here.

Hey, nobody would look at the damn things unless I call 'em some kinda robot doo-dah!  You, on the other hand, don't have that problem.

Now that you changed the topic name which was distracting everyone in a negative way...  Sarcasm

Nice paint as usual. Mods look good. Looks just like the one Lin.K designed. Is that who you got the idea from? Love that groundwork as usual!

They were just disappointed.

Oh you mean the one that Link modeled from Kow's sketch based on a resin kit that Francesco released based on a model by Alaya-san. That original idea?  Sarcasm

edit - I haven't seen Link's model since he posted his finished piece. "Just like" is quite a stretch Mike. "Just like" your Martian hover machine looks "just like" something Kow designed. Not really. But anyway, looking at the Lincs photos, I'd have to say I like his design better. I should have actually made the effort to make mine look "just like" his.

LOL ... if the MaK fanatics have any say, 2000 years from now Kow will have designed life itself, invented the internet and walked on water. The Egyptians stole their pyramid ideas from Kow Yokoyama's sketchbook as was the case with the Roman Colluseum, etc... LOL DOH!

They're definitely not an exact match, but are pretty similar. As for my HT, it was based on my last HT which was based on trackball fan-models (vehitles) based off of.... ideas from Kow Yokoyama's sketchbook.

SIX DEGREES OF KOW YOKOYAMA! CONSPIRACY I SEZ!!!!

If you guys would try building something with tits you wouldn't have to worry about Yokohama.

Oh yeah, that's right - snappers and robot boys can't paint skin tones!   Big Grin

Regardless of the design origin, it looks great, BK. I think the mods you made to it (like the absence of the side skirt) are really good inspriation for other Ma.K. builders looking to shake things up a bit. Great paint job, and nice KISS-principled base. Very cool...  ARRRRRRRRRR!
