Woooooooow.....
I FINALLY took off the postal paper and cracked open my Iquana box. The casting looks spectacular Luca, your best cast yet! I was trying to hold off on opening it because I knew I'd wanna dive right in and that is indeed the case. I want to go throw it in resin cleaner right now, but gotta finish up a few things first.
Now this may be the strong resin fumes talking, but I love you guys!
The resin is VERY fresh and has that new resin smell. Pretty strong, but that'll dissipate soon enough now that it's open. I like the dark gray color too as that'll make any clean-up easier to see.
Great work!
Agreed!!! The resin is SUPER easy to work with. It sands so easily. I had the major parts of mine cleaned and pinned in just a few hours. I took it to my modeling club and the reaction was one of amazement. If other people have this maybe it would be a good group build.

HAHA.. you are obviously an "artist" and not just a modeler. The artist is always his own worst critic
You are waay to hard on yourself. You could cover the Bam in clay and it would still be awesome!
I understand your difficulty. I only joke with you about it. I totally see why it is problems for you and a tough project realistically and logistically, as well as expense/time/and money. It would be really and understandably hard to do and be castable for the masses.:doh
Quote
On the contrary Buchner, even if it'll be a HUGE kit (approximatively is double-sized compared to 1/35 Briegel) could have more chances, but just after a real and expensive pre-order, since I have no idea of how many people could really buy the fat guy. I think I'll produce just the number of preordered copies, maybe in just a run.
Anyway, Buchner is 80% completed and could be the possible new product of older patterns I made and I never produced.
I was going to ask about Buchner and Soldier!? I like them! Funny you mentioned.
I think it's a great idea for Kallamity to often produce pre ordered runs. Maybe get a list of pre orders, produce them with a couple extra, and when you have enough people for a new list produce them again. Might be a good way to minimize overhead problems?
Having said all that, I will be happily investing my money in as many Kallamity products as possible as soon as I fix my truck !!
Thanks for doing what you do man, still and always inspirational!
Rock the Block LZ
Metal Ninja's!
Thanks Grail, Bichner, ok, I'm planning possibilities and as soon as I know some more about future projects releases, I could think to open a "focused" pre-order.
No worry man, fix your truck now!

FINALLY!!!!
Thank you very much Michael, I'm so glad you appreciated the stuff! I think this kit deserved a good casting, as for Garbaldy.
I'm very happy about resin, caster is top-quality. Didn't noticed those fumes or smell, since i don't use Dremel, just handly drilling .
I think could be better for health, but not for your finger's health indeed.
Yes, you're right MvM.....sending that resin is joy compared to some previous castings.
Can't wait to see some finished by you guys!
Garbaldy.....degreased Michael...........so will it be the K-next one? Can't wait!
Thanks so much guys for leaving your positive impressions!

I second the Buchner. It's really awesome. :)
I can't wait to order up the Iguana. Have to wait a bit though, big trip to Singapore and Japan coming up in September.

I'm in the same boat. I had unforeseen expenses occur.
I hope we can all make Luca's only job making models!
I don't think I will be able to hold back on this new Briegel or the cargo ship. They all look like " Must Buys" .
So many new Kallamity projects! Nice work LZ! Keep them coming! I know this is a tough question with many variables, but Do you have a rough idea of kits that are green lit for sure to go into production? ( I know it will take a while for stuff like the Cargo ship)
Right now (including Iguana) I count Briegel V2,Cargo ship,Iguana,Buchner (maybe?),Soldier?,Merz, and maybe another?
Is that right ?
SO awesome LZ!

What I really like about Luca's works is that every one is an "event" not to be missed. Not many other model producers have that distinction in my book.

Yes, I know...it's HUGE
No problem for the wait, your copy is saved from every Con ATTACK (even if there will be some
)
Thanks man!

Yours too! no problem man......
I'd say the good thing of Kallamity releases could be that neither Luca knows what's the next one!
yes, Mertz for sure, but Briegel has as always high-priority.
Long works are usually the earlier ones to begin with, just because when I'll have a break (
), I can intervene to old ones.
Briegelcargo has high-priority 2-3 months ago, concerning to my plans, but as soon as I've started BvII, It was postponed. That's what I'm thinking right now, but life and first work became a mess recently, so I really can't imagine what could happen in next months.
I hope it will be my only work a day man, 10 years I worked with this goal. Not to be "reach", but just to be "happy"
The schedule right now is:
Master patterns:
-Work on Briegel and finishing Mertz
-Proceeding with Cargo and Buchner
No plans for:
-Soldier
-Bamyasi
Kit productions (if Kallamity will live enough
) :
-Mertz and maybe a small Hecaton run
-Briegel and another run of Schnabel (no plans yet)
Not-work build:
-Foo's Martian Hovertank
http://kallamity.com/products/view/MaRs1
-Walter's Futuristic Robots
http://kallamity.com/products/view/FuRo1
-Ma.K S.A.F.S
-Alb's Markov
Thanks man!

THANKS for support guys!

I agree, your designs are very unique Luca, you definitely have inspired me to take up scratch building again.
Keep up the great work.
Building the Briegel-cargo is nice but wow, the Buchner. That's really something special.

Thanks Clee, glad to "inspire" since I have inspiration from your works too!
So you'd go with Buchner before Cargo? Do you think could be arrived the moment to start "focused preorders"? Maybe in September-October?
The problem I have no idea about final costs.
Anyway, I care a lot about what you think, so if you have ideas, suggestions, etc...I'll consider for sure.
Thanks so much

Well, I can't promise I will buy, everything depends on how much it will cost and my finances.

I'd be willing to put in an early pre-order for the Buchner if that means it will help you complete it. :)

Ehi man, sorry for misunderstanding, but I meant..."what you think guys about planning the preorder on September-October", not a preorder request to you
No problem clee, I don't know yet, so I'll probably open a thread just to prospect a possible production.

I will almost definitely be buying the new Briegel VII. It's easy to say that I would put in a pre order cause I know what it looks like. I think Buchner is AWESOME, but I am still trying to get a sense of a finished kit from the pics. If that makes sense? It's easier for me to make a decision if I can see something done.Even in just a solid color. Hard to tell without a price and actual size as well. ( as I add to your workload
) I'm not positive which ones yet, but I am definitely leaning towards getting a few new products.
If I had to vote right now, I would say Briegel VII,Cargo,Buchner,Iguana, are all on my hit list. I think I am most curious about Cargo, but I love all of them so far anyhow.
Hey, I know you will want to slap me for bringing this up again LZ,
but have you thought of scaling down kits like Bamyasi to a possible 30cm tall model that is more streamline like Briegel VII or something? Just an idea in case it had good selling potential for you. I'm sure you have enough on your plate already right now..(as I add to your workload AGAIN)
I hope my selfish need for your kits can help in any way possible! Kallamity Sci Fi ninja!

You don't know how it will be like Briegel v2 yet!
I'm crazy....haha
Jutst kidding
Yes, I totally understand what you're thinking about Buchner, and it's this kind of feedbacks, I'm looking for.
I don't know if that happened to someone else here, but sometimes when you create a long project, could be possible you loose your objectivity, so I don't know if Buchner could be imagined "finished" how it is now.
Yes, maybe before creating that "focused preorder" could be better to go on with it a bit.
Anyway, these posts are not to recruite some buchner customers, just to listen ideas or suggestions about this project.
Small Bamyasi: I sincererly don't want to propose too many "gundam-derived", in fact since Schnabel and garbaldy are possible MS variants of the-o and goblin (that is a variant of a zack), i'd like to move away from this direction, trying to mantain a more personal one.
Anyway, thanks so much for your ideas bro, it's always positive to listen your ideas!

Got my Hecaton last week and of course I had to open it the second it came. Such a cool design and another great kit by mr Z. I think I might actually try making a simple dio with this one. Awesome job as usual Z.

As I'm used to say, Hecaton is my favourite kit of mines, after briegel :)

I have the privilege to spend some time with Luca in his workshop and have some beers together in his lovely town Mantova, from time to time.
So, I'm quite used to Kallamity style and products: I can see them when are still on the Luca's workbench-->
..
..
I missed the Hecaton first edition, but last time I visited Mantova I bring my second edition Hecaton box back to my house
The casting is one of the best ever seen, no bubbles in resin at all and only some minor molding seams.
The new dark gray resin exalts details even better... if you will ever see an Hecaton in person, you will discover details, details, details everywhere!
Thanks Luca for giving me the n°3 box
NEWS FROM KALLAMITY
PS: I was deeply studying pieces and instruction last night and I have to say this looks the simplest model produced by Kallamity up till now...
