Group Build #5: Period Piece

This group build focuses on relics of the past. The idea here would be to create "mecha" or transportation from the an alternate past. Originally we were going to do just "19th Century and Earlier. Nothing from 1900 - Future" but figure in the interest of participation numbers we'd open it up to 1959 and earlier and include "fantasy" type builds too for you gaming mini types.

The focus here would be on scratchbuilding and/or heavy modification to create mecha, vehicles, or other modes of transport. You can invent whatever you wish, the only stipulation is that there must be a pilot of some sort. The pilot doesn't need to be seen, just that all creations must have a human controlling it. Run with that!!!! Here's some random ideas:

∙Caveman hunting mech?
∙Easter Island heads are tips of mechanical iceburg?
∙King Arty and his robots of the round table?
∙Captain Nemo's other ideas?
∙Ju-ju powered Tiki suit?
∙Steampunk of course!
∙Walking Tanks?
∙1950's civilian mecha?
∙WW1 Trench Digger?
∙Controlled monsters?
∙Robotic oxen pulling plow or chariot?
∙Ornithopters, coal-fired, wind powered, clockwork...Whatever else that floats your Viking longboat!

Creations can be powered by whatever including magic.

Definite Rules:

∙ Must have a human operator
∙ Must be set in an era in history. Show refs please.
∙ Scratchbuilds/kitbashes preferred but if you can appropriate find kits (*cough* KV-X2*) those are acceptable.

Deadline: September 31, 2009 (subject to extension as usual)

Bonus Points:
This isn't a contest, but extra karma given to those that exhibit creativity using the following optional criteria:

∙ Realistic display base
∙ Based on ancient mythology (Greek, Roman, Norse, Native American, etc...)
∙ 1950's Chrome
