I finished my RB today. Not my best work, but this kit had more than it's share of difficulties to oovercome. I'm happy with the outcome though overall. The clear coat looks a little grainy in the images, but it's definitely not orange peel. I think it's just unneveness in the satin coat over the high-gloss beleath. Ahh well. I love the wallpaper I did though. That was a lot of fun.

Very nice dio!
The wp is really cool. The water effects are very well done. I'll get it.

Man that CG'ed wallpaper is sweet!  I love the airbubbles, and the light diffraction.

The kit is usual goodness, something to be expected from you (the blue you chose seems to be quite a bit darker that that one the box, right?).  Did you fixed all the joints (meaning fixed pose).  The pose and the mounting of the base is also very well done.

Very clean looking!  The grainyness isn't that apparent to me.  The base is great because it dosen't have too much going on in it.  Also, did you pre/post shade the dark grey parts of the chest and shoulders?

Thanks guys!

Major: Thanks, the wallpaper is my best yet I think. Blending modes to the rescue! Which blue? You mean on the insides of the legs? Probably a little darker. I really didn't try to color match it.

jubjub: The chest, shoulders and forearms were given a shell/tiger-striped look with the airbrush. I used a leftover purple/brown from my Zeta+ Mars type and shaded it around the edges with the same dark gray from the joints. Then I added some white to the brown-purple and painted the stripes. After all that I mixed some Tamiya blue with some future and a little white and shaded the tips of the parts with it. It gave it neat effect... like a transparent blue gloss gradient. Really neat in person. Like a real shell I have.

whoa. that is one kick ass wallpaper. Geez your job as a graphic designer is really shinning through here, its gorgeous. I bow to your skills.

Anyway now the model. well its great as usual. Really I don't know what else to say.  Its a cool mech, reminds me of ZOE, except without the weird "ahem" crotch cockpit. One quick question though? was it tough to get the model to stay  in a good position by putting a Acrylic road ups its leg ,instead in the groin?

Thanks. No, it wasn't difficult to add the rod to the foot instead. Since this kit has no internal skeleton, is light, and fix-posed, it worked out great. What also helped is that that back portion of detail that the rod is stuck into is a seperate part. That made positioning and gluing  it into place easier. (5 minute epoxy) It's what I wanted to do with my Wing Ka, but I didn't plan ahead enough to do it correctly.

wow, great dio and paint job.  The light blue must be a difficult color. The wallpaper is amazing.

Sweet job, FF! I really like the composition on the dio- how you've got this enormous robotic mecha dwarfing overthe deadliest of predators in the ocean.

I've never seen the anime either, but I've heard good things about it. *plans trip to Best Buy this week*

This design has always reminded me of RahXephon, but it still kicks!

Nice model Foo.

Interesting concept (like Rahxephon). I never seen the serie but must be fun.

Also, really nice the wp. :)

MVM

I'm tried to search this and the Rahxephon model in a on-line hobby shop in USA, but I can't find it. Sad

Thanks guys.

I think the Rahxephon kit is out of production and as a result, hard to find. I wouldn't mind having one myself. The RB I got from HLJ... not sure who if any online stores in the US has it. I know R10 does.

Not much to say about this one. It's very clean and very nice but could use a little more decals for me. Great work as usual and I love the way you use the clear rod! :)

That's very awesome man.  I love the base and the fact that the acrylic rod holding it up is  barely seen.  The shark lets you know right away that it's underwater.  Nice stuff.

Unless it's a land shark Wink

Great work as usual - though, with regards to the base, it just seems rather small when compared to the RB - how big is the RB, and is the shark scaled to be a certain size with respect to it?
