Here's a quickie. I redid the sketch of the thing based on the alterations I made. I was also looking at some macross planes (Namely the VF-4 and VF-2SS) when I thought of this. It's a bit messy since I quickly drew this while the ideas were fresh in my mind.

I kinda ditched the traditional Zeon look of exposed cables and bulgy curves and switched to a more streamlined and cleaner look.

This my first post on this forum and I just have to say that the
talent on this forum is second to none.

I'm really excited to be a part of it.

Anyway keep up the good work Norris we all can't wait to see the
completed model.

Beastin' man! I love the scope, I think it is a very Zeon-esque way to approach a rifle scope. And that cannon just feels Sinanju-ish (I just realized how that sounds as one word). Great stuff.

Yeah, this one definitely feels more Sinanju-ish than the official one....  it's making me consider cancelling my order for it.  Especially after seeing the pictures on SRW news page....

Update!

I finally managed to start on the hardest part of the build. It took me a while since I sort of had a hard time visualizing on where and how to begin LOL.

I've also started on the upper armor. I already made a master mold which I gave to a friend for vacuforming. Can't wait for him to get it done Cool

That's all for now Wink.

I got some work done on the attachment points. First off, the handle.

I made the slot allowance for the tab in the hands for a more secure grip.

Thanks guys!

The grip is actually 3 sheets laminated together. Two 1mm sheets with a .5mm sheet sandwiched in between. One of the 1mm sheets already has the slot cut into it before the layers were laminated. It was then a matter of knife sculpting and a lot of filing and sanding to get to that shape. The Sinanju's hand was kept nearby for proper fitting.

Update!

I finished the shoulder attachment tonight. I had to replicate the shoulder joint of the shield in order to pull this off.

I used a single polycap to make a swinging joint.

This is looking great, and the mounting works perfectly.  Does it have much side to side movement?

I haven't commented yet, but great job on this weapon. I know it must be a major pain in the ass to make scratchbuilt work with Bandai joints, but it looks solid.
Have you thought about colors yet? I think a Tallgeese III scheme would look killer on this. Can't wait to see it finished.

Update!!!

I was kinda busy rushing other kits before school starts again so I kinda slowed down on this one. Anyways, here is what I've come up to.

I extended the rails some more. Base length is around 25cm.
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z76/fritzykarl/WIP2074-1.jpg
MG Sinanju

Final extended length is 30cm (1 foot).
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z76/fritzykarl/WIP2069-1.jpg
MG Sinanju

I simulated rows of magnets in the rails by scribing some lines in plastic sheets and cutting them into strips.
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z76/fritzykarl/WIP2072-1.jpg
MG Sinanju

http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z76/fritzykarl/WIP2073-1.jpg
MG Sinanju

Upper armor is nearly done. The vacuformed piece was a bit thin(for easier vacuforming) so I added a layer of epoxy putty to thicken it up.
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z76/fritzykarl/WIP2071-1.jpg
MG Sinanju

Here is the backside of the armor. I made some sort of frame and some minus molds using stretched sprue sliced into pieces.
