Here's are WIP pics of my latest MG:

Size comparison (MG Gundam v. 2.0)

Seamlines eliminated, mold lines removed.

Some seamlines were converted into panel lines since I needed them for convenience during the painting stage (Holiday laziness kicking in....... Razz).

I added a strip of styrene to the tab in the hands to improve the grip on the rifle.

I only noticed this in this shot, but you can see that the forehead was still patterned after Char's 0079 helmet LOL.

Nope. Like you said, it's beautiful as it is. I don't really wanna spoil that. Maybe I'll do something on the paintjob.....

Speaking of doing something unique for this......

I didn't really like the look of the beam rifle's scope. It looks like an afterthought and it doesn't fit either the look of the mech nor the gun itself.

So I made another one from styrene. It looks a bit simpler but it goes along better with the overall look of the kit.

It's alive!!!! LOL LOL

Updates after a couple of months of dormancy Unsure:

I thought that since I'm modifying it anyway, might as well go the extra mile. I therefore decided to scratchbuild a whole new weapon for this kit. I based the design of this one from the Tallgeese III Railgun and then worked around some curvy shapes (a mark of the Sinanju) to come up with the concept.

I applied some changes in the very early stages of building after I encountered some problems when the initial design showed its difficulties.

Still need to work on the shields for this part.

It's around 26cm long. I still plan to extend the rails by another 3cm or so.

And this is how it will be carried around. I'm still thinking on how to attach the weapon to the shoulder to make both stowage and lifting easier.

That's all for now  Smiley

I hope you can match that drawing, that is perfect!  I was planning on building a new weapon for my Sinanju, but now I'm going to have to work very hard not to steal your idea.  But I say, instead of mounting it to the forearm like that, to mount it to the shield mount that swings out from under the sub-shoulders.  That should give you more poseability, and show off the design of the weapon better.

Thanks all! If you look closely, I'm no longer following the sketches strictly. I'm kinda "improving" on it as I go along, but I'll be pretty much following the same basic structure.

That's what I was thinking actually. It does make it easier for stowage and it uses an available resource LOL. I still have to plan that part out though, especially when the time comes that I have to figure out the ideal position for the mount to make the gun NOT touch the ground when stowed but should still be positioned well enough to make it easy for the arm to handle it w/o looking too awkward.

Minor update:

I got some work done on the rear end of the gun. I also detailed the previous section that I worked on.

perhaps you could replicate the hangar link from the shield. You've got the connector arms on both sides of the shoulders afterall. Hm. Perhaps I should draw this up. Basically though, a swivel on the back of the gun would attach to the drop-arm for stability.

Thanks guys! LOL Casting is a skill I have yet to learn though.

@Sian

That's exactly what I plan to do. I have actually figured out a way to go about it just last night. However, it still needs refinements before I do it.
