First off welcome to Fichtenfoo forums buddy.
Your Hazel Custom is really cool. I love the mod you made. The front skirt armor, the screw on the chest, the styrene sheets in the legs thrusters and pistons are sweet mods and I love them all. Good job.
I am curious on how you made the 2 parts of the front skirt armor go up and down separately. I've seen this mod many times but I never came up with a way to do it. How did you add the hydraulic pistons on the ankles too. That would be great for my next kit.

thanks for the compliments!

for the front skirt, you can simply cut them right in the middle connections that's holding them together to separate them.

for the "hydraulic pistons", i just drilled in a couple of holes inside the shins, and used a metal clip and cotton buds:

good luck.  Big Grin

Nice overall mods on the Hazel. It's pretty cool to see all the different things people can do to the same kit. Without the backpack, the neck looks too long, but when you put it all together, it looks really good. One thing I'm really regretting about doing 4 models is that I'm not doing as many little details like yours because I'm kind of going for quantity and sacrificing quality... Nice work!  Cool

thanks! i really appreciate it. Smiley

all of the hazel's neck i thought were very short and hidden, they kinda look like they're hunching....so i just extended it up a little bit....and now he can look way down and look up even better....pretty good for posing purposes...

i hope to see your completed kits soon. Happy Smirk

and this is how my hazel looked back then before airbrush....this is the "look-down" pose that i was talking about....the snow up here at the time kept me from finishing this dude until this summer.

So when will we see the completed kit?  For the neck did you follow the same process for the Hydraulic pistons in the ankle?

Great work, has a very FIX look to it.  I guess that has to do with the clean paint job, and lots of warning symbols.  I think that shot with the rifle over its shoulder is very nicely done, great pose.

I am actually jealous LOL
But everyone is right your kit is very nice. the blue goes very well with the white, the decals are well placed and the picture with the Hrududu long-blade rifle is simply awesome. Good work.

@ majorblah
thanks! i was kinda hesitant of making that pose coz i don't have any hand manipulators to use that actually looks like his holding it the right way... Happy Smirk

@ clee-cm
thanks for the comments. they're very much appreciated. i tried not to make the details too busy since hazel is already very well-detailed kit out of the box.... Smiley

@ blackito
thanks, man! the long blade rifle was a last minute decision actually. but don't be jealous, you did a good job on your hazel too...we all see our creations in our own way that we all like them to be.... Happy Smirk

thanks again, guys. Wink

I didn't have a chance to look at your pictures until today. I had been peeking in on things at work, but your pictures were caught by the filters IT put in place so I couldn't look at your Hazel.

I'll agree with Blackito. I'm jealous, your Hazel is BEAUTIFUL! It's got a ton of really nice small detail that ranges from mods to option parts to paint to decals. A really fine piece of work. Having studied a ton of Hazel pictures in determining my color schemes for my four Hazels, I have to say I really like your choices. Other Hazels with the same amount of white trim usually have the three-tone gray/yellow/blue color scheme and it's too busy (On my Hazels I went three-tone, but cut back on the white and simplified the three-tone). Your choice of all the white highlights with the Mk. II style black and blue color scheme is a stroke of genius. Plus without all the stripes you've got great places to put more decals! The red highlights look great as well.

My only nitpick is that in many of the standing pose pictures the legs look too close together and the feet point too straight forward, making it look kinda stiff. That's an easy fix, and I still saved about 8 of your pictures to my favorite mecha models folder.

I'm gonna go work on my Hazles now!!!

thank you for the very very kind comments.  Happy Smirk

i had a pretty tough decision on the colors too coz i wanted a purple-ish blue but it came out like that which i'm became happy with when it's finished...so now i know what i can use for my mg mk2...i have also researched and seen different types of color scheme of hazel too coz i'm a hazel fan myself....the red highlights was a pretty tedious task coz they're very tiny and i had to glue after i airbrushed the shoulders so i had no room for error there...yeah i agree that his legs are kinda stiff in some standing poses...

i really learned a whole lot with this experience since this is my first shot at modding and airbrushing....i was hoping to enter my hazel rah and owsla into this competition but i don't have the time to finish them...but i guess i'll just keep you guys posted on those in the future...

thanks again. Smiley

Hey I am out of my cave LOL Really gorgous work. When I first looked at the WIP pics I thought you were doing another hazel with pityfull mods. Then I wached the finished pics and reallized that you did a wonderfull job. Little mods and OP here and there and a great painting job.
I wonder where you got the shields because there is only one shield coming with the kit.

bravo.

PS : Snow in august where are you from ?
