I admit that it is not very original, there is a similar scheme in the Tasca site, but I really liked the way it looked.
Now I need to find time to paint the details, and weather it.

That's right!  I remember seeing something similar before.  But hey armour models are usually done with some sort of reference.

Hi,
A long tmie has passed since I worked on this tank, but now I'm back, and hopefully to finish it..
I painted the details, and added some oil color filters. Then chipping with a spunge and acrylics, and lastly a wash.

But it looks very dark, so I think I'll drybrush a very limited light green to pop up some colors.
I don't want it to be too realistic, as it is an anime style tank, so I hope that drybrushing will be enough.

Then I have lots of piggies to build and a base too. I'm thinking of working with greens only, and do a back line of dark green trees, then the tank, and lastly the piggies with field green uniform. The ground will be light brown.

YAY!!!! I was wondering what happened here and was looking at this a few months back. I think the tank looks awesome! Love the camo pattern and colors. A few months I started sculpting some pigs and a small house to go with mine when I eventually do it. Got a whole dio planned out.

Your Akuyaku looks inspired; clearly it was the right time for you to come back to this lovely little project.

I look forward to seeing more of this project as it progresses.

I've modelled quite a bit, but only 1:72 AFV models, so they are not too interesting for this forum 
I did start working on a luft46 diorama so I will post a link for it.
Always getting updated in this forum, just don't have anything interesting to post :).

FF I would love to see what you do with this model. It is a lot of fun, but a bit big for me. I'm suprressing the thought on where to place it when it's done.

Hi,
I drybrushed the model, only on the most raised edges. It was a mix of a bit of humbrol green and white oil color.
It doesn't show too much in the pictures, but this is what it looks like now.
I still need to complete the tracks painting, and maybe enhance the chipping with some rusty color.

Yes, I think Queeg would have agreed that is a nice subtle touch that brings out some of the more interesting details.

I started working on the base.
Made a foamcore box, on top I added a second layer of foamcore plate, and cut two canals to place the tracks in. A strip of thin foam was added to the canals.

The tank should be very heavy so I want to show that it breaks the ground behind it.

After the top plate was glued, I brushed papier machie and sprinkled some fine gravel.
Then I airbrushed the whole base in dark brown color.

Hi,
To continue the base, I started with adding oil colors in various shades of dark brown.
I used raw umber, burnt sienna, sepia.
Started with painting lines (rough) on the surface, and then used a large brush with clean spirits to disolve them into the ground. The result is this:

The trees are very simple (I learned this method from better modellers).
1. Cut seafoam branches to wanted shape and size - they can be bought from various sources just google them, I got them locally in a hobby store here.
2. Spray the seafoam with spray adhesive.
3. When the seafoam is covered in glue, put some noch leaves in a box or something and just dip the seafom in the leaves and remove excess leaves.
4. Last spray the tree with hair spray to bond it.

There are many colors for the trees, and especially nice are dark green which I used, olive green and lime green, and you can combine them for better variation.

I got mine from scenics express, but they can probably be bought from any hobby store.

The grass comes from a sheet form, so to prevent it looking floating off the ground I give it just a little pressure with the pins. I use white glue which takes a long time to dry, so I found the pins help me stick the grass in place.

Hi,
The base is coming to an end.

I added some lower grass from another silflor grass mat, some statis grass and super fine scatter. Then some crushed dried leaves. Shame that most will be hidden by the enormous tank 

After they were dry, I added black cardboard around, and placed into a wood picture frame, it is almost done now.
