G-System 1/100 Xeku Zwei
«
on:
March 20, 2008, 11:55:54 PM »
The Xeku Zwei has finally been finished. After about 2 months worth of work, this monstrosity is done and sitting happily on its shelf. This kit has been one of the most fun I have built so far, but also I think the most work. The shear number of parts and tiny details that cover this thing is immense and at times intimidating. Please see the final shots below, and if you want to see the build up, please follow the link. Thanks!

Final shots! (I will post links to high res versions tomorrow, along with some detail shots)

I gotta say, I've been admiring your work since I saw that PG Gp01/FB you did some time ago. I geek out when I read your WIPs.
The Zwei is simply superb. I dig the color scheme you picked out, and the white just breaks it up so nicely. The subtle metal details are the icing on the cake. I like the colors you picked out for the weapons, as well--they're very well differentiated from the rest of the suit but not to the point of looking out of place. Nicely done.
Astounding build! Pretty freakin' beastly, bro.

Fantastic paint job, I really think it compliments the kit well.
They say dark colors are slimming, this mobile suit is FAT. Lol, the word overkill comes to mind, but you did a good job making that overkill look badass. Also, I watched you WIP, and enjoy all the other cosmetic enhancements to the kit, all around very well done.

That looks really great overall. Color is great, paint is great... nice display piece if you can find someplace it'll fit!
Only one complaint... those rear bells? The sides look like they have a line of glue on them under the paint. Very rough!

hahaha! that is actually the little details that are molded into it. They are like little hoses that run along the sides of the boosters.
I'll shoot some better photos of those today.

Stunning model! As I said in the WIP, I really like the blue/gray color. Like fichtenfoo, I noticed the things on the nozzles. I thought they were defects, too. Maybe if they were painted a copper color, to make them look like something apart form the nozzles, and not a mistake?
I'm waiting on the hi-res pics so I can save them in my "Favorite Models" folder. Nice Job!

Thanks Luca!
The Gerbera Tetra is next, I am still waiting on a few items from the client like the color scheme. I have started working on a PG Zaku Stutzer for the AoZ competition while I wait for the Gerbera stuff.

Since Matt won last month with his Deep Striker, he's ineligible for this month. Doesn't matter though as it'll still likely be a runner up.

I think that it is to bad that Matt is not eligible for winner of the Month, he would have won hands down.
Still, Great Job!

Thanks again for all the kind words everybody. I have to say that this is one of my favorites so far. I've been super busy at work this weekend, and havent had a chance to the high res versions up. I will try and get those tomorrow.
Thanks again everyone.

This is a superb job. I want to violate the rules to make it MOTM!
Can the legs spread any further apart? I think it's part of the design but I think it'll look even more menacing if they are apart further.

They probably could, but for standing purposes they have to be this way.
With a bunch of work, removing some resin they could be pushed out wider.
