So .. you are you planning on casting the body when it's done?
If so I'd be
highly
interested in getting one if the price is humane.
Very nice to see this project back on the road .. I'll be at my KKS commission again any time soon after New Years, so this will be a great inspiration!

This is what happened earlier today when I opened FFF.
Klick

Scroll, scroll
"FF's rebuilding his old PG Eva? Mm, m'kay."
Read, read
"He's sculpting the entire endoskeleton to make the original Eva form? Mm, m'kay."
Twitch

Scroll, scroll
"WHAT THE??!"
Seriously, Michael, would U be so kind donating a little bit of Ur skill to a talentless noob like me?
Enough w/ the spam. So, when are U gonna reveal the secret material?

Hahah! Thanks man! I usually am surprised myself at how much I actually *can* do, but still feel that I have so much left to learn.
As for the secret material, I'll post what that is when I buy some and use it. It's something so... obvious that I keep kicking myself for not having thought of it sooner. But then I recall that it's... genre is not something I am usually interested in. It's something you'll probably only need to buy one of and it'll last for years. And apparently it comes in a lot of colors. However I'm only 80% sure it'll be perfect for this and want to test it before people run out and potentially waste $ on it.

Here's the latest. Amazing what an old round brush and some turpenoid can do to smooth and blend this stuff! I still haven’t started the heads or hands. Yes I said heads… plural. I think I’m going to make the standard naked head twice. One normal and one showing teeth. I may also make Unit 2’s naked head but need to find better reference. I only have a screen shot of it after being ripped to shreds by the mass-produced Evas. I’ll also need to start sculpting the mechanical portion of the upper spine.

I'm curious to see how this comes out with the sculpt. then the mystery material, then the armor. Your EVA body is beautifully sculpted. I say forget the mystery product, just paint what you've sculpted near-black and put the armor over it! Seriously, why does the EVA need a body stocking?

Because it binds the Eva to Nerv's will of course!
Here's the latest. Body is done and baked. Now I need to do the hands, heads and back implant dealie.

While the sheer size is impressive with this 1/80 statue, I am not too in Love with the movie design of the armor.
And about doing things "wrong" ..
I am aware that the naked body you are doing is based off of the movie design as well (intended for the heavily modified TV-version of the armor), but that really doesn't bother me since I
do
like
that
design

Thanks guys! I just added some more images. These are of the nearly-ready-to-final-bake sculpt. Head, hands, and most of the backpack are done. All that's left is to make a couple pistons then prime/polish. Oh and sever the hands and head for casting. I'm getting some casts for myself to make my variants and my Star Wars client wants one now too. There *might* be a few left over.

This is actually Super Sculpey so it's an oven bake clay. So that whole back thing is sculpted "wet" and won't harden until I bake it. I can't bake it too much though or else it'll burn, but I can get away with doing a second bake (in the case of the main body) at a lower temp (200F) for an hour. I wanted/needed to bake the body first to have a nice firm surface to work on the other parts.
If I hade used Magic Sculpt though I would had made the backpack in layers letting the under-layers cure before mixing more to add the vertebrae armor.
