Yesterday was my birthday (the big three-oh) and my wife bought me this model:
http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/reviews/vehicles/dragon/dr6329.htm

It's pretty cool; her granddad drove the M2A1 in WWII. I'm gonna try to make it look like the one he drove and make a little diorama for it, maybe add a jeep, some mud, a busted up brick wall, you know. I started looking for upgrade parts and found all kinds of cool stuff:

stowage: http://www.luckymodel.com/scale.aspx?item_no=LF1150

brass etched parts: http://www.modelsbymickster.com/cgi-bin/hobbyshop/itemDetail.pl?inv=Voyager&id=110&img=1

and replacement tires: http://www.modelsbymickster.com/cgi-bin/hobbyshop/itemDetail.pl?inv=Hussar&id=44&img=1

also, I found a cool figure (image 2) that looks kinda like her grandpa: http://www.modelsbymickster.com/cgi-bin/hobbyshop/itemDetail.pl?inv=Alpine&id=37&img=1

This will be my first armor and it's been a few years since I've build even a snap-fit. I'm expecting some serious hell putting this thing together but I can't wait to get to the painting (I'm rusty at that, too, though). I'll keep you guys updated once I start. Hope that everyone is well and having fun. Later.

Looks like that'll be one AM-heavy kit. Should be cool! Have fun with it.
