Simply amazing...the level of detail is impressive. The eyes are well done as is the shading and pretty much everything else Big Grin. The luster of the hair looks nice too. Glad to see you managed to solve the problems you encountered along the way.

Thank you, sir.  I see that somehow she got moved to another part of the forum - its magic!

For anyone interested in how she was painted and assembled, there is a fairly detailed how-to HERE.

It's beautiful. I gotta say, your flesh tones look waaaaaaay better than the ones in the reference pic in the WIP. Love that blue on the jumper, too. Excellent work. Now go finish Mr. Freeze.  Razz

The dress turned out fantasitc, and I love the skin tones.

There's something weird about it - and I think it's mainly to do with the eyes - the iris' are too big.  It looks like somewhere between 40% and 50% are covered by her top eyelid, even when the lower eyelid is just touching the iris - which makes them look way too big...

Then again, I am nit picking - overall it's a great model!

Yes, they are.  That was intentional - remember, this is anime-style modeling, not real-life.  Anime eyes aren't realistically rendered - they are intentionally oversized.  Most girls don't have pearlescent hair, either.  (Besides, I claim artistic liscense!)  Wink

Here is Yatake-san's original for comparison:

Oh, I understand that, it's just that this figure has a very un-anime style about her - very 1950's sci-fi-ish feel - and the eyes just go against the rest of her 'style' (at least in my opinion).  That being said, it's your figure, so you can paint it however you want, and don't need to pay me no nevermind Tongue

Personally, I am not a fan of that particular sculpt, don't know why, but it just doesn't fit with me. BUT, we aren't here to judge the models themselves, only the quality of work done to them, and this is an example of some fine work. You have done a fantastic job here.

I still think a step by step guide on this kit should be posted on a webpage or somewhere. It would be an incredible asset to those looking into figure modeling, something I have always wanted to tackle, but never could.

I'm rambling. Excellent work.

DrDazzle: FilmMkr did post a pretty detailed 'step by step':

Filmy: Great job man! Anime-style or not I think the face is fantastic - and that blue really gives the model 'depth'. Thanks for the freestyle paints tip - added them to my wishlist!

Great work Filmy. The blue is awesome and the eyes don't bother me a bit. Now get back to Mr. Freeze!

LOL - okay guys, I will, I promise!  Right now though, I've been working on my Briegel!  All the arm pieces are now cleaned up, painted, shaded, and washed, and I've actually started painting the camo, using the paint colors Tamiya calls for in their Corsair instructions.  I'll update my progress there after I take a few pix.

This will be all I work on for the next couple weeks since I'm traveling a lot the next two weeks (NFL Officials training camp in Dallas, then down to KSC for the shuttle launch next week).

Oh yeah, and then there's that upcoming move in three weeks after we close on our new hacienda (with TWO Modeling Lairs plus the Paint Studio in the garage!)    Big Grin  Big Grin  Big Grin

I think aside from the incredibly beautiful overall look the model, the texture of it is what really makes it a wonderful piece.  The different reflections and "depth" from the hair, skin, clothing, metal makes it truly outstanding.

Haha, sounds like I'm ass-kissing!  LOL But yeah, these are my honest opinions.

Now onto the Briegel! ARRRRRRRRRR!

I have posted on another forum how awesome this came out.  I really love your colors and your photography brings that out nicely. It's just great overall.

I personally like the sculpt a lot, except for that giant 'fupa'.. i'd have to shave that down (no pun intended)

I saw it at Modelmania today. I looks so much better up front and in person.  How did it do at the contest?

The finished work is fantastic and amazing!  LOL
I like particularly the blue & flesh (well, that almost cover the entire model!  Big Grin)
For the hair, I wonder it might look better if the folds are darken and contrasted.
