Can I still sign up for this? I got an idea last night that fits the theme.

Pretty sure you can.  Just get started and post an WIP of your project.  Wink

I'm new to the scene and am just finishing off a racer I started 8 months ago (took a HUGE break in the middle).  Is it to late to get it in the contest?...I'll have it done by April 18th, the day of the Seattle IPMS show, 'cause they love Sci-Fi in the North West Smiley.

No pictures until it's done, I hate taking WIP photos, I like to keep up the work if I'm on a roll.

BAck Story:

It's called the Alumalloy Arrow, built to compete in the Longline Racing Group.  the cars are purpose built to drive in the empty utility trenches that run between the major cities (durring the war the utility trenches were abandoned as cities localized the power and water supplies.)  the wires and pipes were mostly removed to be raw materials for the war effort, so after the war local hot rodders had an easy job cleaning and preparing the long strait trenches for drag races...the distance of the races grew untill it became city to city (500-900 miles).

The model is in a section of the trench, and is done in 1/48th.  metal foil, metalizer and Alclad to get the alloy look...rivets rivets and more rivets.

PhD It's all in the story

Sounds interesting. As for posting it in this GB4... don't bother. This GB kind of died quick with only 1 or 2 completions. Please post it in the in-prog forum instead as we'd love to see it.

I believe the deadline wasn't set in stone so nobody really has any motivation to finish. I've been collecting parts for mine until a deadline was announced but I guess time just flew.

Well... not sure what to do... I guess this forum is fine. I might restart my monoracer soon anyway. Might as well keep it open until the next GB.
