Update time! Did some work today on the torso, finishing up most of the white coat and paint chips. Next up is clear coat and weathering on the parts. I also finished building and priming the gun I have made for my Briegel. It will be held as it is in the picture, under the arm at waist height. Top part of the gun is a flamethrower, bottom part is a machine gun. Enjoy!

Looks great but needs more color mapping for the whitewash! LOL The chips look great though as does the gun.

Update! I have finished most of the oil washes and decals on the Briegel. All thats left is to give everything a nice flat coat and then some pigments for more weathering and to even things out a bit. Here are a couple of new pictures:

Indeed...very nice (and fast too)

One suggestion is to paint the grenades and the pelvis cannon a different color, but it's only a suggestion.  More pics!!!

More pics are on their way! :) The grenades have another color on them, but I am going to leave the pelvis gun the way it is. I'll update later today with some more pictures.

Looking good! Big Grin The only thing for me is that the paint chips are rather large without having some type of damage to the metal frame. Other than that it rocks!

Actually a winter whitewash is generally a paint with poor adhesion. So you'll get a significant amount of chipping.

This looks good so far Matt except for a few nitpicks... the paint chips are uniformly large... they need some smaller chips surrounding them and coming from them. Take a small piece of sponge and your base coat paint color and you can dab on some more smaller ones easily enough.

You could also do well with more small "lines" of chips on the edges of raised parts and angles. This is where paint would begin to wear and chip first.

Also the gun barrels do look a bit odd in white Tongue LOL

Great job so far!!! I like the winterized white washed effect, I am excited to see how the winter diorama will turn out.

This is another nit-picking observation, shouldn't the white wash be less uniformed? A vehicle camouflaged with white-wash would have a unevenly painted appearance, since it would be exposed to environment, in addition to the paint chipping and flaking, there would be a running effect of water, ice and snow slowly washing away the white-wash over time which would expose the factory applied paint job underneath.

Still great job so far, keep up the great work...  Big Grin

Agreed... here's some scans from the apparently soon to be OOP MIG book:

I started with the white wash like in the mig scans that mike posted, and really did not like how it looked. So I decided to go with a more solid "white" scheme rather then a super accurate "white wash". To me its much more appealing and over all looked alot better. Now had I decided to go with a more accurate representation of a white wash, then yes it would be wrong how I have it.

Update time again! Here are a couple of new pictures of the 99.5% complete Briegel. All I really have to do is add some tubing from the right hand (holding gun) to the forearm and its complete. I couldn't get the tubing into the spots until the glue holding the gun had dried. Other then that all I need to do is finish up my troops and other small additions for the scene and its done! (Pay no attention to the piece of tape on the gun :) it's holding it together while the glue dries)

Good job, many compliments! THe decal with number 07 is not much visible. Maybe was better a dark colour (for the decal not for the model... Big Grin).

AWESOME!
I like very much the position, it seems you  had picked up the chest, a very aggressive impact!! Looks good man!
Now it's done, I like very much the winter landscape. Weathering looks very good, even if (only my personal taste) I'd made less or smaller paint chips on the legs and on upper torso lens zone.
BTW, now that I see it finished it looks really incredible in general.
I love the light weapon option too. Great kitbash job!
I only wait to see more pics, on the backside too.
Thanks men to make so much inspiring work on my model, I'm very PROUD of all of you!! Oops

I share Mike and Luca's opinion concerning the ships but this is still very impressive. The snow is very realistic too.
I have Mig book too, I must say the winter maping technic seems one of the more difficult technic of this book. Is was a true challenge to try this shame. I think this you could have done better things here and there.
I hope I can reach your level. Mike and you place the level high. (Oh my god I should improve my english ARRRRRRRRRR!)

Thanks for all the comments so far guys!

Luca - I couldn't have done this without your awesome skill and talent. Without your hands the Briegel would not exist!!

I will be finishing up the final details and touch ups, along with the figures soon. Final pictures should be ready next week (My parents are coming to visit us this weekend, so no Briegel time)
