You are making weapon before me!! :evil:arghhh
It's incredible and truely good looking! Very near of what I thought to do...
congratulations. It's a little Schnabel Gun style, so I think it's ok and has a great mecha design cohesion.
Figure: I like it very much, you have understand what I mean for figures very well.
I'd add some details on the body as a belt with gun and something else, but it looks very good so far!
Helmet is a lot better than my pilot's one, and I think with this base and figures and weapons, you will make an incredible finished model!
You make me want to work on my weapon too!

Hehehehe... I wa shocked the Briegel didn't have one. It does leave it open for creative interpretations though. I was modeling it slightly after the SG gun. I'm doing so to keep the styles similar and besides... I like the SG gun a lot.
Glad you like the fig. I started gluing on the small packs and such last night. These guys will be loaded up with all kinds of "stowage".

Yes I know Michael, in other forums asked me the same, but I would rather prefered to create anything than an ugly wepon, because I couldn't go on to work on in that period
In addiction weapon I have in my mind would be too heavy for this kit. In fact completed boxes would be over the weight of 2 kg (now it's more or less 1,999999999 :) ), the threshold Italian posts have fixed for cheap expeditions. From a quote of 20 US it magically becomes of 70US
if package weights more than 2 kg.
I thought and bought also many iron rods to put in the boxes, but I wasn't able to ship.

Yes packs!!!
Reading that I don't know why, but I imagined a Koba's Venus War army...
or something like that wow!!

Great so far........................
I really love the fig´s modification really amazing
I have a question. when you are sculping the body armor, when do you add the sculped details (zip, etc)?, do you let the putty dry a little before starting with the details?

Thanks! I added the sculpted details when the putty was still wet. I did a section at a atime so that made it easier. First I did thehelmets and let them cure. Then I did the upper chest-plate and neck piece and added the little engraved details. I then placed the head (removable for painting) down into the neck part to fit it in better. When that dried I did the lower waist, back and shoulder pads. The zippers and stuff were sculpted in with dental tools.

The figs look great. Lot's of "stowage." All those little details look great. Are you gonna have a pilot as well?
Maybe you could have the cockpit open and have the pilot shouting at the guys on the ground. Gives you a reason to display the open cockpit and shows some interaction with the figs in the foreground.
Keep it up man, it looks like its gonna be awesome.

It comes with a pilot figure already made for the cockpit, and the way the cockpit is assembled, it opens pretty easily.

Thanks! Yeah, the pilot fig is very nice actually. Looking forward to painting him and the others.
So does anyone recognize the long rifle the guy on the left has slung on his shoulder? What's it from? [I know, but wanna see if any of you do]

Well, it's a knock off of a MG34 with a little 42 thrown in. Repetitive design? Must be Bandai. I'd say it's from one of those 1/35 HardGraph sets. The Zaku Head?

Everything looks really great so far. the figures look like they'll match the briegel's design pretty well. That rifle is from the UCHG ramba ral commando set, right?

Heh heh... yup... it's from the Ramba Ral set. I know what I'm doing with those guys already and won't be needing the gun for it. :)

I've been working on little parts of the Briegel, base and figs. I know I'm getting a lot done, but it feels like I'm not getting anything done.
The past few days I primed all the parts of this project and started on some of the extra details like the camo netting. Someone at A_A asked about netting so I replied with the following which may help some of you.
Quote
Cheesecloth works well. I picked some up at a Michaels Crafts for around $6. It's a 2 sq yd package. I just colored some yesterday I'll be using as stowage. First I dipped it in water to make rolling it up easier. Then I rolled it up and used wire to secure it where rope (thread) will be later. I placed aluminum foil over my model where this will be placed (since it's draped), placed the netting into position, then colored it with cheap Apple Barrel acrylic paints thinned with water. Since the netting was already wet it soaked up the paint nicely. Since the acrylic paint is thick it works as a glue to keep the shape when it dries. Later I'll do a little drybrushing to bring out some highlights and dust it with some pigment powders.
I'm sure that the above would also work for covering a whole vehicle or using it as a "tent" of sorts. Wetting the cloth helps it drape and be shaped better.
Now last night after I wrote that and saw some of the example pics someone else had posted I made some new nets to add to the existing one. These were a lighter green than the first and were wrapped loosely around my original net pack. This gives it a lot of depth and removes the need to drybrush. It also makes the net roll look sloppier than my original which is also good since I imagine rolling nets neatly would be a pain.
Pics later.

I applied the rough-cast texture to the armor parts yesterday. Today I got the first colors of the internal metals painted. I based this first color on the fantastic coppery metal that Luca used on his. I also posted a pic of the camo netting.

I am a big Alclad guy, and my intention has been to use Jet Exhaust as my base as well. I love that color, especially when contrasted with others in the line.
