I guess I'll get things started by showing off some of the color schemes I've worked up. I think I'll be doing 'Late Autumn' but am also digging the rust and whitewash schemes as well. The whitewash would be VERY fun to paint as would the rust. Faded green is also very sexy for some reason. Here's the link:

"Late Autumn" has my vote, but "Unpainted Rust" is sharp in its own right.

They are all so beautiful. Why don't you get 6 Briegles and do one of each?  Razz  LOL

I think my favorite two would be Rust and Late Autumn.  But like I said, they are ALL nice.

Because he'd need 7 to do one of each, not 6 Tongue

As I said yesterday, the urban assault and the rust are my faves...

Thanks guys. Don't think I haven't thought about wishing I had the cash for 6 more Briegels! It's a tough choice for sure. Whatever I don't do here I'll surely do on another mecha like a Taco or MaK kit.

Luca should do a 1/100 or 1/72 Briegel next. The 'economy' Briegel so that we can afford to do all these schemes! LOL

I would love a 1/72 briegel too,
however my favorite scheme is the washed white one followed by the late autumn one.
The resemblance with a russian tank makes this schemes very interesting.
For some reason i don't see the flanker-like camo on the briegel.
The desert one looks cool too

Luca likes the Late Autumn one as well. Looks like that's the consensus and the scheme I'll be using.

I also added 3 more schemes that I messed with but didn't add. The total is now 10. I like all but the ambush pattern... too busy on a Briegel.

The Late Autumn camo pattern is very nice, I think the Briegel will look nice in the Late Autumn pattern. But my vote is for the Faded Green pattern, this pattern would give the Briegel a retro WW2 look.

I'm digging the Hind camo. I know it'll look great in any scheme though, Foo's doing it.

I've no pics yet, but I might as well post up some of my plans as well.

Aside from the Late Autumn scheme, I'll attempt to light the Briegel as well. With a little modification via a dremel I'll be able to place a 9v in the tail of this beastie. I'll end up using a good bit of fiber optic and small LEDs. I just ordered some 2mm blues from ebay yesterday.

Then I'll be adding some "junk in the trunk" so to speak with some stowage racks on the tail armor. They'll contain the usual suspects... camo netting, bedrolls, chain, rope, etc...

I'll modify some figures too into futuristic soldiers to add on the grassy base to add interest and show off the scale. I might add a small stream on the base as well.  the Base may need to be at least a 1 foot square to a: fit in my display cabinet, and b: be big enough for the Briegel. LOL

And finally, I've started constructing a BFG (Big Freaking Gun) that will attach to a hardpoint on the Briegels hip armor. Luca probably had this in mind with making detail under those round circles on the hip armors. The BFG will have a similar feel to that of the Schnabel Gun and also Kobayashis works.

Whew... quite a task ahead of me!  Evil

Now that the Slave 1 is done, I'm back on the Briegel!

The B parts are mostly done except for attaching and fixing the seam on the armor that wraps from the tail all around the front. I decided to attach the rear thrusters with ring magnets and steel bearings. That'll make them slightly posable and easy to reattach if they get bumped off.

More progress added on the Briegel. Many many pics that should help anyone who wants to light this behemoth.  Cool

Um, no thanks.  It'll be all I can do to build and paint this behemoth to begin with.  After all, this is my very first mecha/fighting suit doodah!

Thanks Luca! But you're the one that dreamed this up!

Filmy: You should do fine! If you're afraid of the weathering you could always do the urban scheme you're doing a little cleaner. But what's the fun in that? LOL I would at least replace the lenses with the following parts even if you don't light it. That way you'll get nice clear lenses.

Oh, I'm gonna dirty it up - no worries there!  Its just all the lighting and such that is a bit beyond what I wanna try right away.

I get a lot of pleasure watching how you are doing it, though.  Nice to learn from the masters!

Here's my latest progress report. I decided to post up some of the things that will make mine different from the rest of them. So on the prog-page you'll find pics of the figs, gun, and base. I'm especially interested to hear how Luca likes the figs and if they were close to what he was thinking.
