Gaplant TR-5 [Hrairoo] w/ Gigantic Arms Unit

The picture of the  Hazel with the Psycho arms has been growing on me. I know many people dislike that kind of stuff but I'm a dirty AoZ whore.
The main thing I liked in that were the huge hands but I don't have any tubes right now so I decided to build bigass hands in the Hazel fashion (kind of like this).

I'm not even sure this is actually gonna go on a kit, it's more a fun project that might or might not be used on a kit (but I'd like that).
I'm gonna finish the hand and do another one.

Well, it sure is a strange Hazel but thoes are probably one of the better scratchbuilt hands I've seen.  :)

Nice Scratch! I really like the design of the knuckles - looks very real.

Come on . . don't be scared . . . drill some small holes, push some wire through them and make those hands poseable!!!

Only one other thought, are the fingers all suposed to be the same length? I couldn't quite tell from the ref drawings if that was what they were.

All in all looks like it will be a sweet build! Good job.

@mrmaigo: I only used 1mm plastic sheet.
@Irk: It's already glued, I never intended to make it movable because I don't have anything to drill such small hole even if I do have some wire that would do the trick (the smallest I have is 0.8mm I think) and I already had a pose in mind so why bother!
The fingers are probably roughly the same length. It's easier that way: you only have one model of finger to make and you can't really tell the difference so again, why bother?

Just wondering if there is a calculator for the size of the hand or you just useing a 1/100 hand for scale?

Yo Ezechiel this is really cool, your s-b so far is really nice.  I don't really like the fingertip though (a bit too pointy), are you going to mod it a bit?

Actually I really like the TR-5 Gaplant with the big arms too, maybe one day I'll try that.  Have you seen this?

I actually own the TR-5 kit so yeah, might end up on it.

Sorry to bring down the intellectual level of this topic, but what are these sheets you use in scratch building? I am going to make an educated guess that it's just some variety of plastic, but what is the name specifically and where can you get it (online preferably)?

Now, comments on the progress. I just happened to notice (well it's hard not to since you only have hands up there), but are all gundam fingers the same length? Definitely not knocking your build, it looks fantastic. Very menacing. On that note I will go investigate gundam finger length now ....

Hey fox, don't worry I'll be happy to answer any questions you have on scratchbuilding :)
I'm using 1mm plastic sheets (styrene) from a friend who got them from a professional source. Evergreen is a brand who sells that stuff: http://www.hlj.com/hljlist2/?Dis=2&SeriesID=1480
It's available in hobby shop or online. 1mm and 0.5mm and the thickness I use the most.
Not really sure about the fingers. I just looked on a MG WZC hand and they are not exactly the same size but on the HGUC Xeku Eins they are. Try to see how it is on PG kits.

Still working on those. I did the hand "guard", don't really know the technical term. I will now detail those and work on the palms.

The hands are basically done, minus some clean-up and putty if needed after priming (and some detailling if I have other ideas and feel like it):

I like the pose, looks pretty dramatic to me. Hope to use it on a project sometimes.
I might go ahead and build the Psycho arms, the shapes are really basic, won't be a problem and should be fun to add details to!
