gundam wing kits 'beam' parts
« on: December 16, 2006, 02:06:32 PM »
I was wondering, is there any way how I can make the green-transparent beam parts that come with the 1/100 Wing kits look any good? I like the detailing on them, and the shape, but besides that they look crud. Did anyone ever tried something?

Searching is good please do it.

Those threads discuss beam sabers and energy arcs and contain information that will help you. If (as your PM suggested) you meant something else, then BE MORE SPECIFIC WHEN YOU ASK FOR HELP. Don't waste everyones time with short little unspecific questions. Thank you.

I don't get it, why are you suddenly mad at me?
I don't understand what's not clear about my question, I clearly stated it was about the green transparent pieces, not about bare plastic or recreating a beam saber from scratch, I friendly explained it to you and asked for unlocking,
So what is wrong?

I don't think FF was mad at you, but now he might be...for talking back.

Basically he's telling you to be a bit more specific for the general board.  Think of the workload of the moderators if we have to lock, PM, get PM reply, unlock, post comment.  It gets frustrating...

So please kindly describe what you are looking for in this thread, so other members who have experience might step in to help you out.

In short: The more detail and specific information you provide when asking a question aids everyone greatly when trying to provide an answer. Be descriptive. Never assume everyone knows exactly what you're talking about.

This is a good rule-of-thumb for everyone posting questions in the Model Help Forum.

Yeah... I wasn't pissed, but I am now. Your reply constitutes flaming which is stricktly prohibited. You've been placed on probation until you can post in a mature and specific manner.

Now as I said before when I posted those links. THEY CONTAIN INFO RELEVANT TO WHAT YOU WANT! THAT is how to make a beam saber "cooler". I'm sorry if you can't figure that out on your own, but it's not my problem.

Me... I just throw the damn things in a rarely opened box and never use them. They're ugly and toyetic no matter what you do to them.

The beam sabers on the wing kits are made of the same material as the clear plastic pieces for the eyes, not the kind of rubbery material that the newer kits' beam sabers are made out of.  That being said, there doesn't appear to be anything you can do to them since the color
(that neon green) is part of the color of the plastic.  I'd have to go with saving the handle and scratch buliding the beam part.  I'm curious about the gel thing though since it looks like heavyarmscustom deleted the pictures of the work he practiced it on.

Rather than re-post the set of links from your other thread on lightning effects, perhaps in the future it would be more appropriate to post a link to the entire thread itself:
Click here for a thread on using plastic to make lightning
That way someone who may not have read the other thread will have another source for possible information, the same links aren't showing up in multiple threads, and the information has some context.
