After alot of planning, sketching, noodling, etc I have finally decided on my plan of attack for the Kontest. I have decided on making my Kampfer a Heavy Assault unit that would provide backup/support for other Kampfer in massive assaults/battles.

So I have named this project the X18 H.A.W.

X18 since its a prototype and HAW for Heavy Assault Weapons

I have so far snap fit the entire kit and modified the head a bit :)

I have also begun some mock ups for parts and equipment, but those are classified for now! hahaha

I will post more progress here as it moves ahead.

Looking cool.  The red monoeye is very evil-looking.  Evil

I thought you're going for heavy type since you asked for Xeku Ein's related sketches.  I want to see what you put on this K.

Small update for tonight!

I have finished the basic construction for one of the weapons the X18 will carry

Kampfer X18 H.A.W (FINISHED!!Detail shots added)

I ordered the Sazabi's main gun from Rainbow 10 and used that as my platform to build off of. I decided that I wanted my Kampfer to carry a large flamethrower of sorts to complement the many other additions I am planning.   After chopping the Sazabi gun up a bit and adding a new handle/trigger assembly (the sazabi handle/trigger is way to big for the kampfer hand to grab) I began with the details. I will be adding some more down the road, but this is the base idea for the flamethrower.    Evil

That's a very nice flamer, the nozzle and tubes looks great.  I would suggest doing a bit more cosmetic work on the top part of the flamer, it still resembles the gun.

Thanks Major!

I started some more work on the top of the flamer to make it resemble the gun less. :)

I'll post more pics when I get home from work today.

So I FINALLY got some time off of work (woot!) and was able to get some more work done on the Kampfer project. Started working on modifying the legs to fit my design ideas, and add some "beef" to the kampfer.

UPDATE TIME!!  Cool

I started working on the ammo barrels that will be used for some "other" additions down the road. I worked up the basic frame that will hold them together, and then built the actual joint that will hold the unit on the back "butt" mount. I used the spot that the shotgun normally mounted to on the base kit.

Looks very nice.  Is the tank going to be hooked up to the flamer?  Or some other heavy equipment?  Evil

Small update for this fine Sunday afternoon. While waiting for some putty to dry I decided to finish up the work on my base. So I made up the center logo in Ilustrator, printed it out on some nice paper, trimmed it out and voila! the center piece of the base is done.

So I assembled the mounting rod and two base plates, added some magnets to give it a little flare (and to seperate the top plate from the bottom) and then test fit the bottom half of the kampfer to see how it looks.

Here it is:

You can even see a sneak peek of some primed kampfer feet!

More updates hopefully later tonight as I have the entire day to work on this.   Big Grin

Thanks!

Theres a really great surplus plastic supply store in San Francisco called Tap Plastics. They do tons of awesome stuff and can get basically any type of plastic in any shape you could imagine.

They have a huge section of pre-cut discs in tons of sizes. I think I paid in the area of $3 for the big disc and $2 for the smaller disc.

Its on South Van Ness across the street from the BMW Dealership, right before you get to the 101 on ramp.
