I just wanna give a shout-out to Rainbow 10. In a little over 6 hours yesterday, an order I placed was completely processed. From the time I sent the order email, got the paypal request, paid for the item, etc... to the time I got a shipping notice was about 6 hours and 25 minutes.

R10 rocks! Cool

Package from R10 arrived today. So 11 days via SAL shipping. Not too shabby. :) Love those guys!

Just ordered some items from R10 quick and fast, but I think I screwed myself over when it came to shipping. My package came to 38 dollars and some change but my shipping was 40.00 I choose UPS, because Im used to using them  and they deliver well in my area, but Im guessing that this was some what of a deluxe shipping. Should I have choosen the others, which I believe is longer and R10 is not responsible if items are lost. Or is this the typical shipping cost. I live the mid west so those who have ordered from here do you get this price? I love there service and stock, but the shipping is throwing me a curve ball.

I always choose SAL which is very inexpensive. Gets here via USPS withing a month usually. I'm usually not in a hurry when I order from them so that's a fine wait for me.

I've used SAL twice now (but from HLJ because they had what I was looking for). I also live in the midwest, and both times my SAL package arrived in less than two weeks from the time I received the email notice it had shipped. Oh, and both times the shipping cost was under $10 (one order was an AC kit, the other order was four Maschinen Krieger kits).

The last time I used EMS, it took less than three days to get from Japan to Nebraska. Of course, it was more expensive, but it was a larger order, too.

Oh ok, thanks for info and clearing that up guys. Next time I know EMS over UPS, unless you need it quickly and have the money.

EMS is the expensive one.

If you want cheaper you would go with the AIR or SAL. The only downside to SAL is that it is not insured, and if your stuff doesnt show up they won't replace it.

For big orders I use the EMS shipping, even though its more expensive, it gets here fast and my stuff is guaranteed.

Small orders AIR or SAL are prefectly fine.

Having never tried SAL shipping before I have a question.  How many times have the rest of you lost packages when shipping SAL?  I always use EMS and it is starting to hurt the wallet a bit.  I have an order right now that is $38.00 and the EMS shipping is $40.00.

I've never lost a package with SAL and have had probably 10-15 packages shipped that way the past few years. Even at xmas time is wasn't too slow.

I've used SAL for over 10 times for packages from HLJ and R10, never had problem with that either.

Being in Canada, EMS is a really bad option (taxed for sure).

Speaking on R10, if anyone is interested, when you order the MG Destiny SE you can get free EMS upgrade.

Does anybody know of a store where I can order specific sprues within a Gundam kit like the service that Bandai offers for Japanese residents?

I recently ordered from Hobby Search for the first time.  I am actually pleased with the transaction I ordered the FXX Black Version and a Mclaren MP4/13 models.  I had originally ordered both from HLJ but they discontinued the FXX after I had preordered it and told me to wait for the next shipment.  So I choose HS instead.  For international orders they only let you uses SMS shipping which came out to about $20.  But the order was here with in five business days of me placing the order.  So I guess I will actually recommend them for anyone who wants speedy service.

I recently used Hobby Search as well. I got my items within 3 days but two were out of stock so they cancelled those items (seems they forgot to update the site) so that was a little disappointing. Otherwise, i will be using them again in the near future.

Another place I recently ordered from was www.luckymodel.com. Postage was cheap and fast and the items were packaged in a plain box and marked so as to go through customs quickly. Their range is huge but there are many items I can gwt through other stores that they don't stock (newer Gunpla, for example, ends at the rx-78 recolour but I'm sure newer stuff will be added in time (waiting for the Unicorn to be in stock somewhere)).

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I'm looking for MIG Pigments and the link bentbutnotbroken does'nt sell them and if they do I must not be looking in the right part of the site. The link takes me to something about business consulting. Huh?

I'm also looking for Gunze Sangyo acrylics and would be greatful if someone could point me in the right direction.
