types of resin for casting

hello. i've attended a quick seminar recently on casting resin figurines and wondered if it can be applied to gunpla GK's. the material we used was polyester resin and i had a hard time trimming the flashes and seam lines even if i was using 150 grit sandpaper.
I was just wondering: What are the differences in using polyurethane vs. polyester in casting? I've browsed the net and have seen that majority of Gundam GK's use the polyurethane.
Since i haven't actually "touched" a GK full kit/conversion kit, (aside from B-Club's manipulators) how should the material feel like when working on it? Rigid? Flexible? Combination of both?
Finally, what do you look for in a mecha resin kit? Is the ease of trimming the flashes a factor? Price? interesting subjects? etc.

Hi, im planning to buy my first conversion resin for my MG Ex-S. Im thinking to buy the Core-works conversion ver2 for the Ex-S. I never dealt w/ a resin except the B-club manipulators.
1. Do you have to glue the parts (resin) to each other or w/ the MG frame?
2. Can you still take off the armors to see the details of the internal frame?
2. I read already that you have to clean first the resins and sand them, any grit number recommendation?
3. What primer do you use for resin? Is it possible not to use a primer?
4. What paint (i.e. tamiya) do you usually use for resins?
Please help me for the step-by-step to deal w/ resins. Thank you so much for your help guys!

No. Unless I do some serious modding to this boards software, merging isn't possible. Why can't you guys just use the search function? I mean
I
use it when I'm looking for stuff and I have no trouble. Plus it's not like half the new people use the stickied threads anyway. Too lazy or retarded or something.

I saw your previous post about Silicone SuperSamplerâ„¢ 25$, But thats used for making moldes correct? or is that everything?
I was under the impression the mold is made of rubber/silcon.
Or am I am just very confused.

So far, resin stuff from TAP plastics isn't half bad either, and at least for me it's convenient cause there's one just up the road.

Okay... Here's one way to revive a long-dormant sticky: Throw a new post at the end of it. In all seriousness, I have a question about casting and my searches turned up little information.
I'm trying to re-cast a 1:76 scale Maschinen Krieger SAFS that came with my Nutrocker. It's about the size of a 1:72 scale person--just a smidge larger. I've got a mold set for it, with individual holes (?) for each of the component parts: torso, legs, and arms. The problem I'm running into is that the resin is really too thick to get down into the holes for the arms--as well as the periscope-pieces on top of the torso. The mold is rubber, so it
is
somewhat flexible. And I am using a toothpick, which succeeds in getting most of the air bubbles out. The trick is getting the resin down into the relatively narrow diameter holes for the arms.
Since the resin was too thick, I also tried Alumilite's "Super Plastic". While it did a little better--being a thinner liquid when mixed, it didn't quite get the job done, either. Not only that, but it probably cured in half the time that the resin did. A mixed blessing.
Perhaps a two-piece mold would have worked better (in fact, it probably would have). With that being said, does anyone have any suggestions for getting the resin--or Super Plastic--down into the mold for the arms? Some sort of applicator? My best try so far was using a plastic pipette converted to a funnel.
