Thanks :).
I started working on the base.
Made a foamcore box, on top I added a second layer of foamcore plate, and cut two canals to place the tracks in. A strip of thin foam was added to the canals.

The tank should be very heavy so I want to show that it breaks the ground behind it.

After the top plate was glued, I brushed papier machie and sprinkled some fine gravel.
Then I airbrushed the whole base in dark brown color.





Thanks for watching, I still have tons of piggies to paint, but I try not to think on that too much

Hi,
I drybrushed the model, only on the most raised edges. It was a mix of a bit of humbrol green and white oil color.
It doesn't show too much in the pictures, but this is what it looks like now.
I still need to complete the tracks painting, and maybe enhance the chipping with some rusty color.

Thanks guys,
I've modelled quite a bit, but only 1:72 AFV models, so they are not too interesting for this forum 
I did start working on a luft46 diorama so I will post a link for it.
Always getting updated in this forum, just don't have anything interesting to post :).

FF I would love to see what you do with this model. It is a lot of fun, but a bit big for me. I'm suprressing the thought on where to place it when it's done.

Thomas I thought the GWP was gone 
That's why I didn't post there.

Hi,
A long tmie has passed since I worked on this tank, but now I'm back, and hopefully to finish it..
I painted the details, and added some oil color filters. Then chipping with a spunge and acrylics, and lastly a wash.

But it looks very dark, so I think I'll drybrush a very limited light green to pop up some colors.
I don't want it to be too realistic, as it is an anime style tank, so I hope that drybrushing will be enough.

Then I have lots of piggies to build and a base too. I'm thinking of working with greens only, and do a back line of dark green trees, then the tank, and lastly the piggies with field green uniform. The ground will be light brown.

Regarding the first base, something didn't work for me with the colors, and as I started to paint it it just got messy and I lost motivation to continue, so I started over with this one :).

Hi,
Finally I got some time, so I went away and continued working on the model, it is very nearly done :).

I painted the details, and added some archer dry transfers from the spare boxes. Then I added some oil filters and let dry.



Next I added a pin wash of dark earthy brown oil color (raw umber + I think a bit of black),





I wanted to build a simple desert base. So I started with a layer of DAS, afterwhich I glues cat litter and let dry. Next I sprinkled fine sand and let dry again. Last I brushed the base with white glue dilluted with water to convince the litter to stay in place during painting process.





I sprayed the base in desert color, and then washed, filtered and drybrushed with various dusty colors. I still need to have more experience in painting desert bases, but for now it is done. Soon the final pictures, and thank you for taking a look,

Thanks, but I meddled with it and the base got so ugly I lost motivation to continue. Also the SAFS was turning wuite bad as I continued to work on it 

But I found a new figure which I'll use, and I'm going to do a new base so my motivation is back and I hope to finish the model :).

Here is the figure I chose, I accidently cut off one of his legs, and had to redo it in magic sculpt. It is from a set by Elhiem figures.

Hi,
finally reached the painting step, and I took inspiration from Krueger works and his excellent site.
The model was painted tamiya's grey green and added some camo with dark grey:






The base itself was painted in various earth tones.

Thanks for the advice, I'll do it next time. How didn't I think of doing that anyway  ?

In any case I've done some improvements, what do you think now? I have time before I get to painting it so please tell me if there is anything else to improve. I also cut the inside of the pipes a bit to make them less thick with a hobby knife.

Hi,
Thank you everybody for your great suggestions (I liked the floating tank... :))..

I'm going to work and will post pictures of the improvements later on.
What I'm gonig to do is add wires, change the gun so it will look less 40kish, add support for the back plate, and make some rocket cannisters to put on the base.
The tubes are indeed misaligned unfortunately I'm not so good with scartching, so I hope in time I can build better.

Hi,
this model is great, very easy and fun to build, and it was finished in about an hour or so.
I added some bits from the leftover box, and drilled a hole underneath and a similar one on the base to connect them better. I'll use a clear rod I got from Fulcy shop.





out of the box it looks like this:



The barrels for the rocket launchers were cut from plasticard cylinders, they are overscale and too thick, but I don't have a mind to do new ones now :)..



I then finished the lauchers.

Should I add some wires and pipes to it?









I also added a heavier gun on the side sponsor, cut from warhammer 40k gun. Should I add something to it as well?

My next blog is for Nitto's Nutrocker which I got of Ebay some time ago.
It is very simple, which is ok by me :).
I plan to add to it some rocket launchers similar to WWII German neblwerfer 42
