thanks guys...

Major Blah - yeah, these are pretty useful! Another good option are stereo mini jacks (those used in headphones). Better for more complex circuits, since those come with 1ground and 2live connections. I'll probably be using some of those in the other parts of the meteor later

Funaka - Hahahaah, I don't think I'll ever get round to building a hazel with the primrose add on. figured I'd out those part to good use :)

That's a mighty interesting design you got there! But at first look, without reading your description, I got an impression that it would be a flying drone with flapping wings, something like a dragon fly. Looking fwd to more of this..

Thanks guys, glad you like it! Actually its an old technique which i've been using for quite some time already. Back when I first started out modelling, after market parts were not so easily available, so I had to come up with alternative / cheaper solutions.

Today's small little update. did some cast iron effect on some selected areas, and added some small surface detailing to break the monotony.

Crazedpanda... the ironic thing is, I AM trying to rush it, but I've taken 3years now, and i still do not see this thing finishing anytime soon. Hopefully this year... hopefully...

Here's a long overdue small update.

Here's a small update. Amazing how slow I am doing this, even though it is supposed to be OOB. My 2 days of fever and flu did not help much either :(

Did some small adjustments to facilitate painting later.

Rest of the details here.

I'm about 50% done on the parts, so hopefully it should be quite soon before surfacer and painting! as usual comments are welcome!

Model In-Progress / MG Zaku F2
« on: May 18, 2008, 04:02:18 AM »
Lately with the hectic life, seems like I've got not much mood to do any modelling. Each time I sit at my table, my mind totally goes blank, and its really tough to get any inspiration for my current builds. So I decided to take a break to do some OOB work. The model of choice, an MG Zaku F2 (yes... an MG finally). Here goes...

The rest of the details are here.
http://www.ebasenet.com/progress-ZAKU_F2_p1.htm

There will be no major mods on this one, and will keep it simple and mostly OOB. Will still be documenting some basic stuff and hopefully the WIP will be informative to some.

thanks crazedpanda. The minus mold cavity was just drilled right through the plastic, and a small piece of styrene stuck on the inderside to cover up the hole. As for the 2 small holes, i just manually drilled it halfway through the plastic with a pin vice. Its not that difficult actually, because the plastic is actually very thick.
