I believe spraying thinned tamaya flat doesn't work at all, you have to mix ffa with the flat (then add thinner). I personally eyeball it (and makes SURE I have enough). Haven't gotten my grubby mitts on mr hobby

I'm not sure if you wanted to mix flat with ffa or flat with thinner or ffa/flat with thinner, but the numbers don't change
40% would be 4 drops & 6 drops OR 2 & 3
70% would be 7 & 3
Everyone seems to HATE fractions

I moved a few months ago and I just remembered I have everything still packed in boxes, I have a working camera again and the light was nice this morning. I've also never actually posted anything I FINISHED

I'll start with few quick shots of an 1/35 Ishtar from mid summer '06. Hand paint, panel lines, maybe a little too much weathering but it looks nice.





So here's my MG-GP03S I finished around the start of the year. It's fully airbrushed (my first) with a semi-gloss clear coat. It's far from perfect, but I tried a lot of things on it. I tryed few brass pegs for detail. Any way it needed a lot more finish work as well as a bit more difference between the armor/inner frame colors, there's also some destroyed pain from the fit around the shoulders. I couldn't get all the dust off too...

Will duct work rust?  you can get that stuff in all kinds of different shapes, sizes and gauges.  (not sure if it will rust though)

Ductwork should be tin or galvanized steel (cheaper)
Tin or galvanized steel, wont rust fast/well. Stainless will eventually (use tuperware support above bleach in the sun). If it's mild steel, yup, always

My Kampfer's knees flimsy-ass joints broke, and I'm thinking about the best way to re-do them.

Mine were really tight and ended up breaking as well. I put some square rod on either side, it seems to have held up fairly well

No new pics as I'm WAY behind schedule (and my camera is busted)
I've got my colors down, it's still what I planned but I did a swatch so I know it'll work. I'm gonna do a dark blue, metal fleck base with lots and lots of Tamiya smoke (clear black) for a very VERY awesome sparkly candy that goes between black and metal blue *drools*

I've only just started on the hips. I have one of the forearms ready for final prep, thighs need a little more work to be symmetrical, feet are still a few hours off (I think I lost one of the toes :? )l lower legs are almost done, upper body and shoulders aren't even started but shouldn't take a lot of work. The head'll be easy, just going to move the 'blade' back and down and just smooth the whole thing out. Then the thruster pod needs a little more work before its ready for finishing. Don't know if I'll keep the braided hose or try to bend some plastic tube.I scrapped the disk launcher idea cause I can't scratch build for poo, but I'm mostly done with a shorty dual rocket launcher and I might do a double barrel shot gun.

Still got LOTS of hours of putty and sanding and priming and putty and sanding and priming. Painting can't be too bad, just lots of clear coats on all smooth peaces and I'll have a good airbrush by then. It's going to be scary if I finish it on time

I've been using Bondo's "Professional Glazing & Spot Putty" for my K, I'm guessing the a difference between that and just Glazing & Spot Putty is you have to add the hardener too 'Professional'. The 'Professional' is fine for what I'm doing but you have to mix it before doing spots because it won't just harden on its own (I tried, I did NOT work). Up till now I didn't know they had a ready to use tube.

I'm gonna say its something to do with the fluid nozzle (#3) not sitting right. The air flows around it and if its not making a seal some air would be able to get through it. Though it might be the micro air control valve (#29 and o-ring #30). I can't be more sure because I don't have an iwata, but those look like the only trouble spots

So air has to be following the needle back to the cup. Too me, that says the gasket between the nozzle and the handle isn't sealing or is missing

Is Tamiya Flat Base suposta be so thick? I'm having trouble mixing it. Maybe its just had too long to settle?

Fixed the bur, didn't help. Took the brush apart and checked everything. Don't know exactly what I did but its fine now  

You know what would be cool, a siphon cap for tamiya bottles
