Very neat, that's a monster of a truck. Liking the diorama though a few Space Marines or Imperial Guard troops would in my opinion add to it.

Saw my first chunk of this stuff at the weekend. Its a weird mix of wood and plastic, its lightweight and very smooth, it sands and cuts easily and its a hell of a lot easier to work with than balsa wood. I'm hoping to get hold of some sizeable sheets of this stuff, I reckon it will come in very handy for making dioramas and if what I am told is to be believed then it should be really easy to paint.

Regarding the machine I agree, it does have potential. I wouldn't mind having a play with one.

Wow I really like that, superb job. Near where I work I quite often see a bare metal P-51 flying about, awesome sight and a truly wonderful plane.

Agreed, I thought initially that it was a plastic kit but I reckon you're right and it is resin. Probably impossible to get hold of one these, scratch building one in 1/35 is tempting though.

This is the only pic I could find of a 1:48 scale Blizzard Gunner kit. If you look at the missile pod on the pic below and compare it to pics of the 1:72nd scale Blizzard Gunner you'll notice that the piece that attaches the missile pod to the mech is actually more detailed on the smaller 1:72nd scale kit.

Way back in the 80's I built quite a few of the Revell Robotech kits mainly in 1/72 scale due to the high cost of these kits in the UK at the time. I could be mistaken but I believe these kits were made by Takara and just repackaged for the US and European markets.

Another thought.

Keen-eyed Battletech players will notice that a lot of the Robotech Defenders models look like battlemechs from the original Battletech game from FASA. The reason for this is that all of the original edition's 'Mech visuals were based on designs from a variety of anime series, including Macross. Eventually FASA got embroiled in a lawsuit with Harmony Gold and Playmates over the use of the Macross images. As a result FASA dropped all of the derived images (not just the Macross ones) and later editions of Battletech had new visuals for all of the original edition 'Mechs. (On a side note, the Battletech game was originally titled Battledroids, but a lawsuit with Lucasfilm over the use of the term "droid" caused them to change the game's title.)

My brother used to have some very impressive (22" x 34") Battletech blueprints of some of these mechs, I wish I had the plans for the Battletech Scorpion (Dougram F35C Blizzard Gunner).
